Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I might have to move abroad for college next year, and as i wont be around, doing a driving lesson every 2 weeks won't suit me.

Would i be able to do say 1/2 a week, or is there a place you can do them all in 1/2 days like they do in England ?

    Thanks in advance

If you are capable you can do them in as short a timeframe as you can process the content and perform the tasks, as in 12 hours. You.ll still need to hold the learner permit for 6 months from date of issue.

i did two a week, but didn't do my last one for about 2 months, that way when i went back to my instructor he was able to tell me how well i was after coming along on my own and how much i was after learning :) but as Motor-Ed has said, you will have to wait the 6 months no matter what

Doing 1-2 a week wouldn't be a problem, but not many instructors would be ok with you doing all 12 EDT lessons in 1-2 days. You are supposed to do driving session in between each lesson, to practice what you learn in each lesson. So doing them all over a two day period wouldn't be feasible. It would be doable if for example, you were already a capable driver who has a license from another country & you were just doing the 12 EDT lessons to get your Irish drivers license.

But if you are a new driver just starting out, few instructors would be willing to do it. It would raise the eyebrows of their own RSA supervisors & their professional judgement would be called into question. Was told all that by an actual EDT instructor when I moved back here from the US and asked the very same question.

Leinster Driving Campus does an intensive driving course over 5 days. Campus only has other learners on it though, no real dangers like other cars and pedestrians but I would say it would be a great way to quickly pick up basics in stress free way and build confidence. I assume they take you around the local town for last couple of lessons though, hopefully you know how to handle it by then!
