Wedding Cake & Photographer Suggestions

I'm looking for suggestions for both a Wedding Photographer and a Cake Person(along with the other myriad of things).

I've contacted Confetti Cakes on Facebook already. Her pictures look great. I'm just looking for others but I wouldn't be using the likes of Danes, Ivans or anybody like that. I'd like more of a local independent to make the cake.

Photographer suggestions would be good also as the prices I'm currently finding online or by e-mail from them are unbelievably high. We had budgeted for a wedding in Spain and even award winning photographers who would fly out for your wedding day were actually cheaper than the ones in Limerick. (one even wanted €150 extra for a CD where they would simply copy and paste the pictures onto it)

And if you are a supplier reading this feel free to PM me if you prefer.

Three friends of mine do wedding photography, two are the Portlaoise and se area, but travel. If you pm a contact email, I'll pass it onto them for ya.

There's also Cormac Byrne in Dooradoyle. He does lovely work and can highly recommend him.

If you're on FB - they have wedding photos albums on their page.

    I'll send on that PM.

I sent Cormac Byrne a Message already so we shall see what he comes back with but judging by his current work I cannot see much change from a few G's.

Thank you all so far. I have sent off a string of e-mails to the people mentioned here and more so let's see what comes back.

Photographers are being very cagey with their pricing though and some will only give a price with a meeting in their studio.

Sally Mills do fab cakes, not sure about price but their stuff is a crowd pleaser and can do really indiviual stuff.

They have a coffee shop in the milk market open all week, and I think they may have a display of wedding cakes and styles.

I'm getting married this year and I tried numerous photographers for price. I'm going with a guy called Paul Lehane from Cratloe Weddings. He was by far the most reasonably priced photographer. Here is his website http://www.cratloeweddings.ie/about.php

We used a photographer in Castletroy called Damian Byrne, he was brilliant to work, with the photographs were great, the albums were done in a few weeks and reasonably priced. His web site is www.cardamphotography.com
My own name is kevin F.

If you are still shopping for a photographer try Frank Williams in Hospital, he did a friends wedding, very competetive on pricing and he did a great job. He's a real gent too.

    Thanks,

I'll bear that in mind. My Google History shows I at least visited his page once recently. There are lots of photographers out there it seems and their approaches are as varied. I am meeting one tonight and two on Monday. I think if any of them were to be unsuitable(unlikely) then I would start my search again.

I know Damian very well, and I would recommend him too, we were in college together. His albums are just stunning from what he has shown me.

pm'd you BB! Best of luck with the preparations.

Used Fairyqueen for a family occasion a while back and found them excellent. If that doesn't work out, try these lads. They're in Arthurs Quay in Limerick, http://www.finethings.ie/about.html
