Ah yes indeed - you can sell fuel cheaper if you can get rid of pesky costs like people! Isn't automation great all the same? smile.png

Anyone know if Cooke's Thatch Bar on Newcastle road is open(ing) again?
Seems to have been closed for ages and ages.

In all honesty, the fact that 24 hour pay at the pump stations are still a fancy new concept here is embarrassing.

Feericks butchers in Lower Newcastle closing 30 January according to the advertiser

While looking for plans for the bike share scheme on the Galway City planning map I noticed this unit was granted conditional permission for a sandwich bar last week.

Mishnóc leather goods have opened in the unit in the pro cathedral building which used to be a clothes shop.

I guess that means they've moved out of Mainguard St.

It’s expected that a planning application will be submitted in the coming months for the new student accommodation.

    We shall see.

I don't wish to derail the thread, but do you know if there's any indication if/when the bike scheme will be extended to Salthill? The fact that the original docking stations were all so close together was idiotic. This has been underlined by the low take-up of the scheme to date.

They applied the same model and system in other cities around the globe and it's worked out successfully in all of them. Have some patience It just takes time

Thanks for the advice. My question, though, was about whether there are any plans to extend it to Salthill.

There's a thread dedicated to the bike scheme here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056440058. You might get more responses if you post there. I'm surprised the mods didn't move your post to that thread.

Is that down by the escalators? I noticed a die-cast models shop in there the other day surrounded by empty units behind sub city, it must be the lowest footfall part of the whole centre.

Yes. ABC have closed that shop but a sign in the window says school books are still available from their Tuam Rd shop.

The unit now has signabe up for a different book company. Books... something (can't remember the name).
