Urban legend due to the prevalence of AIDS scaremongering at the time.

But yeah, Philip Tyler is dead now about 16 years-

Philip Tyler from Bosco died a number of years ago. I think he's dead about 10 years or so. I seem to remember that he died of a brain haemorrhage and nothing to do with HIV. Though back in the 80s and 90s when any gay people died there was always vicious rumours that they must have been HIV+

I kind of remember having a crush on Anna Chlumsky when I was 8. She was your one from My Girl. If I was 8 again, and about to be stung to death by a swarm of bees I'd totally like her to witness it.

My friend from Chicago dated her when they were 15/16. Lovely girl by all accounts, went to college(not a "child star", by any measure) and is now back acting the odd time in really good indie movies. She's a a stunner now. grew up well, and well educated. she is like the anti-lindsay lohan...

I used to girl-crush like crazy when I was a kid.

I remember going up to Dublin to see Twink in panto when I was about five and thinking she was the most fabulous thing ever. Of course no-one in my life will ever know about this.

I also had a really big crush on a girl called Louise who was in my Irish dancing class when I was about seven. She had really blonde hair and big blue eyes and always won all the trophies at all the dance competitions, a real majestic creature. I remember wanting to hold her hand.

I've since grown into heterosexual attraction, disappointingly.

Zach Morris (the character) always struck me as a textbook date-rapist. Linda Carter was a beaut alright. Oh, and loads of my losers sisters' friends
