I think the theme he's been using in WWE really suits the character and seems like something I'd actually listen to. I don't understand why they changed in the first place though.

It suits him when you think he's a silent, brooding character, but the roots of Sting shine through when he gets on the mic and, really, he's still that surfer guy. He can't help himself with his enthusiasm - "What is up, Philadelphiaaaaa??!!"

I miss seeing roided up meathead wrestlers like the Warlord and the Barbarian.

    Come back Bootista!

    At least we have Ryback.

Was trying to think what was the best recovery from a botched move? We hear people recovering in promos but I can't think of a decent recovery from a botch

I've always felt able to accept that from him because it's just the way he's always been to me. He was surfer Sting for only about 5 years after I started watching.

Commentators referring to wrestlers solely by their first name completely takes me out of the moment.

Cole and King did it with John and Chris numerous times during NOC.

I always think of Cesaro as Antonio Cesaro, and Rusev as Alexander Rusev. I don't know why I never really think of their names as they are now. I always say Konnor O'Brian as well.

When I was a young I thought Val Venis and the Godfather were just womanizers. I never knew their gimmicks were a porn star and a pimp. It's funny looking back and thinking "this was a show with rednecks, Olympians, comedians, pimps, vampires and undead guys running around and fighting each other."

Post of the year. That is absolute art. When you put it like that. Jesus! I watched during the New Generation years and my cousin used to always ask me how they all had two jobs, from a time wise perspective. He couldn't figure out how they'd get it all done within a week. There was a NASCAR driver, a garbage man, a dentist, a pair of fitness instructors, a plumber. We were both 10.

They hadn't a spare moment. To the point that they showed up to matches in their work clothes.

Not sure about the NASCAR driver or the garbage man, but obviously the dentist, fitness instructors and plumber worked for WWF anyway so were always available to work.

Driver was Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly, garbage man was Duke "The Dumpster" Droese, so yeah, both were in the WWF.

Edit: Wait, I think I misunderstood what you were saying, and now I feel silly >_>

IRS was straight out of work, wrestling in his slacks and tie, what a trooper!

Inspired by my Around the Horn battle with Hashtag Heel, here's my latest article on Voice of Wrestling about Damien Sandow!

Any one else get the feeling watching Night of Chanpions that Seth is "The Man" of WWE. I mean the performances he is puttin in consistently can be topped by no one in the company, an when he turns face he will be WWE no.1 guy, surpassing Cena. ( not his legacy just current standing)

From an in ring perspective hes and Cena are most certainly the men at the moment.

Both are having great years in-ring wise, though Rollins booking has made him look weak.

Where does Seth Rollins figure into plans if/when Roman Reigns reaches the heights they wanted for him all along? I'd be worried that he'd fall out of the main event if this happens soon.

Who knows? Roman does seem to have the rocket strapped to his back since Wrestlemania and Ive seen little to suggest they'll be lighting the fuse on Reigns anytime soon.

Ya Rollins is the guy. And rightfully so. He was in the semi main and main event spots. He's truly awesome.

I read a rumor on Wrestle Chat that they're talking about having him surpass Punk.

wouldn't surprise me if they were that petty

I wouldn't mind it if it was a reign of good feuds and matches where there was a bit of intrigue.

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,619 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Seth is a machine he will give 3/4/5/ star matches week in week out for years to come and could become the WWE's Flair/Steamboat type with his work rate when history looks back on him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

Yeah but what I'm saying is, if they have someone else in mind, will he be pushed out of the main event scene when they think they can get away with it? Flair didn't main event really.

Rollins should be the man but he is not booked like a credible champion.

To retain his title he has: escaped a cage after kane stopped his opponent escape, won a fatal four way after kane interferes, won a ladder match by holding the title longer than his opponent as they fell to the ground, survived thanks to Taker interference, Pushed a ref to get DQ'd, had help from a comedian (yes really a comedian), beaten a 56 year old via reversal.

Has lost to Cena, Ryback, J&J security. Lost many tag matches, many singles matches by dq as he needed to be DQ'd to survive.

    Terrible

Damien Sandow needs to join The New Day as the token.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,786 ✭✭✭✭briany

Damien Sandow needs to join The New Day as the token.

Sandow needs to be given a serious run. He'd probably be quite funny as the token white guy in New Day, but he's been there and done that with funny gimmicks. Just needs to be given that opportunity. Same with Heath Slater. Two tragically underused guys.

Just about to read beakerjoe's piece on Damien Sandow now. I read in places it wasn't his time to win the World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena that time, but I don't agree.

It mightn't have been his time to win the title, but it definitely wasn't his time to lose his cash in. If they were insistent on him cashing in then he had to win

Exactly. They could have just taken the risk for a couple of months with him, see how it went.
