The main problem with 4K is the amount of storage space required for it. There's no compact disc media big enough to use for it. Meaning it's also going to be hard to support via downloads/streaming.

There's 3+ layered Bluray such as the 128GB BDXL, and there's been development in far larger proprietary version from manufacturers.

I just love the fact that Sony is putting so much weight behind their indie game catalogue. Getting the likes of 17bit Games and Klei up on stage is a real statement of intent.

Steam ain't at E3 and they ain't saying anything about HL3

Unless the steam box is going to seamlessly run windows games in linux then it will leave people scratching their heads I think

'E3' contains a '3' in it. Valve can't count to 3 - therefore this event only baffles them. No numbers at GamesCom, maybe they will show up there?

I have a question for console gamers. Will many of you be considering buying a new TV to go with your new console? You'd need a 1080p TV to get the most from the hardware.

Also, the prices are €399 and €499, but will most people be buying bundles containing games or an extra controller etc and spending a bit more than the basic console price?

Will probably spend €500 on a launch bundle. One/two games and an extra joypad.

I got a new TV a couple of months back, mainly cause I have a PC hooked up to it these days but knowing I'd probably be getting the PS4 in 6 months was what swung it for me when I found a good deal.

Yes,I rarely watch tv these days anyway and I'm thinking of building a new pc anyway,so I think I'll just buy a very good monitor and have it hooked up to that.
