TBH if Ireland were playing in my back garden i would close the curtains

You would definitely end up with broken windows regardless

I'm sure this thread seems like a dig at the "english" but um... heard of the internet? - Stream the damn match....

    God bless the internet.

So will you be complaining about every activity, sporting or otherwise, that is not shown on RTE when Ireland are being represented or is this just your rant about not being able to watch the sport you want to while wrapping it up as being for the greater good?

FWIW I don't agree that anything should be on a protected list. It should be up to the relevant authority (the FAI in this case) to do what it wants with its product)

In which case nothing would change because John Delaney would just pocket the cash. But, in fairness, he's worth it don't you know!! Let us not forget that he turned down a job that was paying at least 3 times his current Salary!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::P:P:P:D:D:pac::pac:

I'd assume for the 160 quid TV licence we wouldn't have to pay the english (Sky) to watch our country play? Surely this is one thing they can't sell off ?

    Just seems wrong.

Sky have been showing most Ireland home friendlies exclusively since 2002. Did you only just notice this?

how does not having Sky Sports mean that he's not much of a football fan?

Because Sky Sports LITERALLY INVENTED football in the early 90s. Before that people were obviously just playing a crude form of rugby with their feet.
