I lost my bag in Newcastle at the weekend and all my belongings were in it, ID, Passport, bank cards etc. I need to get my hands on a new birth cert. Is there anyway I can get it since I have no id?

Joyce house around the corner from Pearse st station should have a copy too ,once it is a normal birthcert.

Do not, under any circumstances, pay that crowd €40 for something that only costs €20 direct from the HSE.

I went into my local HSE Health Centre recently and got my son's birthcert. I wasn't asked for any ID, just asked if I was his mother, his DOB, my maiden name, 1 or 2 other questions that anyone could answer.

As mentioned before, anyone can get a copy of another persons birth cert. They just have to know their DOB and name.
