Has anyone actually used it? YES

Is there any chance oil consumption will drop?

We got good results on a high mileage primera dsl ,,

however we used in it a jeep and it didn't make difference

Is it possible to get warranty on used one?

I think Traynor's give a month's warranty on an engine.I would try them first as they are fairly good to deal with. However, if you were unlucky enough to get a bad one you are still stuck with the labour bill.

I don't think you could get an engine any worse than the one you have.If it were me I would go with the secondhand option. With a repair you won't know what you're getting into until the engine is in pieces.

... But should I also replace oil filter as well? It was replaced month ago ...
In a perfect world you would change it, but it's not really necessary in this case. The filter probably contains about a half pint (quarter litre) of oil and that will not make any difference. You can change it the next time.

Before you go throwing rings and stuff at it make sure the PCV system is clear. Not sure on the specifics involved for your car/engine but if the PCV system is kludged up it wont help oil consumption.
