...just in from a drive to the beach wit the dog...she's really coming along..:P...anyway, stopped at a set of lights, guy on a Dullville comes to the top of the q...his right winker is on, the car opposite is also turning right...lights turn green..guy on bike accelerates away as the opposite car starts turning right also...but biker ISNT turning and almost sides the turning car....he gestures a "salt-shaker" sign to the driver....:rolleyes:
Theres another driver who's going to tell the story about how dangerous bikes are....and a biker who'll tell how he escaped being in a wheelchair by a stupid "cager"....
I've seen it too many times, lads leaving their winkers on....thats why i dont use mine....

hopefully he'll twig it later on, and realise he wasnt terribly clever
also, car driver should also realise that indicators arent always 100% truthful, and not act purely on them
and thirdly, bike rider is gets double minus points for hand gestures

no reason not to use your indicators, imo, but I presume said in gest

Have to say the amount of lads when out on spins leaving the indicators on is mental TBH. For me it shows you are not 100% in control of the machine if you are not comfortable enough and relaxed enough to kop a flashing light on the dash for 10mins.

Simple thing to fit a beeper if you are prone to leaving the indicator on.

I bought one when I first started biking, never bothered fitting it as I got use to turning them off. If anyone wants it they can have it, granted that I can find it.

It's just a habit you need to get into. I could maybe count one hand the amount of times I've copped having a indicator left on. It can happen to anyone, but if it happens often you're far too distracted to be safe on the roads.

Ah, its easy to leave on, commuting I find is the easiest, you slap on the right blinker, are squeezing through 2 cars who are stopped at lights, parked across a yellow box and you're distracted by everything going on around to realize you forgot to turn the light off for a few hundred meters

As an instructor told me; the only thing a indicator indicates, is that a light is working.

It would want to be some noisy beeper to be loud enough to hear when your riding and stopped you should spot the flasher when checking for neutral.

Has only happened to me a couple of times. Usually when I've been paying more attention to other road users trying to kill me than worry about what a couple of bulbs are doing.

As to the first line, why in this day & age they're not self-cancelling, escapes me. They were self-cancelling back on my '84 K100RS and they're self-cancelling on my 05 H-D.

As for the second line: spot on !
