Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    ___

So hosts Israel take on Norway in the opener at 5pm our time, while Italy take on England in the evening KO in Group A.

Can't say I know much, actually I know sweet **** all about Israel. Norway would be worth a watch for some of their players whom might be known to a few here. Players such Henriksen from Alkmaar, Singh from Feyenoord, Gladbach's Nordtveit and Man U fans might want to keep an eye out for one ex and one current player in King and Daehli as well. I've heard bits n bobs of Molde forward Berget, meant to be quite highly thought of in his homeland too.

Italy vs England is the main event tonight, both will fancy their chances of topping the group. Fair few recognised names in the England team like Zaha, Henderson, Caulker, etc.

Italy meanwhile have a mix of Seria A and B players, notable names include the likes of Destro, Borini, Insigne, Donati, Immobile and Verratti.

    ___

Betting wise, I've money on a few different bets for interest. For me it's Spain or Holland's tourney to win. Holland @ 7/1, Spain Win/Rodrigo Top Goalscorer @ 14/1, Rodrigo Top Goalscorer @ 9/1 and Isco Player of the Tournament @ 12/1 are all bets I've gone with. Germany lack upfront IMHO to bet on them.

    edit - added Insigne @ 28/1 and Maher @ 33/1

Is it all on Sky or just the England games?

Schedule in the OP says Italy Vs England match is on June 6th but isn't it today?

Think all the games are on Sky . Both games are on Sky Sports 2 tonight anyway.

Should be a good watch over the Summer. I haven't seen odds but I'd assume Spain are the favourites, they've taken a very strong squad, filled with quality and some outstanding players.

1-0 to Israel, Nir Biton from the penalty spot.

Spain with rodrigo tello and thiago to name but 3 should win imo, the likes of montoya, bartara, nacho and de gea in goal will form a good defence too.

Lovely finish from Pedersen, Norway deserved that. 1-1.

Crazy first half so far. Norway have a defender sent off for being the last man.

I don't think that was a clear goal scoring opportunity . Should have been a yellow IMO .

Israel are going to be torn apart by England and Italy.

    Should have scored .

Just tuning in again. Good timing. Cracking finish from Singh on the half volley from outside of the box to draw level in stoppage time.

    FT: Israel 2-2 Norway

He was a late call up, I guess he took the number of the player he replaced. Italy are far more comfortable on the ball in particular the old Pescara tandem of Insigne and Veratti.

England are ****ing awful to watch

Playing long ball to front non stop

    England have looked particularly poor.

Bet Hodgson is proud. Its a lot like the game they had at the Euros last year, no Pirlo Panenka penalty yet.

    England 1-0, Dawson.

Scrappy goal for a scrappy team. Well done to England for taking their opportunity.

Engerlund are awful, Italy are inept, really poor game.

What was the goal disallowed for? The non peno call in the first half was shocking!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,304 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Am sure that should have been a peno as the foul carried on into the box,

Italy unhappy again, looked like the ref had given it.

    Great finish that.

    Justice there

Italy score, really deserved. The only team that actually played instead of being negative like England were

Delicious by Insigne after some odd reffing.

Grande Insigne. God I love that little man.

We saw the future of the English national team tonight, and it's looking bleak.

My own crowd Forest have confirmed they are signing an England U-21 player in 14 days, but won't say who it is. Anyone else but this chap and I'll be disappointed. The only bright spark for England tonight in a sea of mediocrity. Has been first class for Birmingham all season.

Not really, a lot of their top young lads aren't there.

Exactly. The likes of Welbeck, Jones, Cleverley and Smalling are all probably still eligible but in the senior squads when fit and that's just the United lads. Then you have Wilshere, Chamberlain etc from Arsenal and Kyle Walker from Spurs. Probably missing a load too.

They were missing Zaha, Lansbury, Ince and Rose. Yes they were losses no doubt. But you would think with one of the largest playing pool in the world, England would be better than the rabble they were tonight. I really don't think having those four guys on the field would have changed much. There are too many passengers in that side - Henderson, Shelvey, etc.
