If someone likes MtG (or other CCG with strong metagame) this game might be cool https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/level99games/millennium-blades-reprint-the-game-and-get-all-new although shipping is expensive.

Just 24 hours left on this, looks like some interesting gameplay mechanics with the leader ship role. Also scenarios based on actual story lines from the show. And of course lots of mini's.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,442 ✭✭✭September1

I'm bit of KS addict ;-)

Here is a nice filler game, hopefully they will reach metal coins SG: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hexgames/dwarves-in-trouble/description If there are more backers from Galway area we can look at bulk shipping :-)

This one is also seems to have cool idea for economic game https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ludicreations/crisis/description sounds like last crisis, but with dieselpunk theme.

I haven't backed it (so far) but its a little bit tempting since I do want a dedicated boardgames table that can double up nicely.

Not your typical kickstarter price of course so thats whats holding it back.

    Taylah Gaming Table - Geeknson

I do wonder if anyone in Ireland is making anything like this. I've never come across them if they do.

Most similar tables gaming tables seem to be astronomical prices.

I thought the Duchess gaming table, also on Kickstarter, was better designed, and it was also priced reasonably. Do a search for Duchess in Kickstarter. (Sorry, as a user with a small number of posts I can't post an actual link.) I backed it myself.

The Geeknson one looks like it will be a killer on the elbows for people sitting down, and I don't like their solution of attaching plastic/foam pads.

The Duchess got hugely more backers, and it's still available post-campaign as a pre-order with reasonable cost of shipping to Ireland.

    btw, I'm currently backing "The Gods War" and "13 & 15 sided dice ( D13 & D15 ) w/ DCC & other sets".

Hey guys, I feel like we have invaded your forum with our game so I wanted to contribute here too! :)

Currently backing "Deal with it LITE" (got "Deal with it" a while back and it's always a hit at parties. I also backed "Near and Far" which finished recently, it looks beautiful! It's a sequel and I'm not familiar with the original though.

I got the playmat for Tiny Epic Western a few weeks ago, the game is due next month. Joking Hazard is due to be shipped shortly soon! Exciting times! :)

I'd say I get a new game delivered roughly every month. Kickstarter profile here.

Looking forward to being a frequent visitor to this forum and seeing your tips!

Secret Hitler arrived yesterday, it's beautiful!!! It's hard to tell from the picture but a lot of the pieces are wooden. It also came in a fab wooden box (at extra cost.)

My Secret Hitler game arrived last week too. It is soooooo pretty. So glad I went extra for the wooden box. I can't wait to play it but like Avalon and Werewolf I think I'll be crap at it. :)

Funded Exploding Kittens previously too which is great fun to play. Gets very tense at the end!

Ooh that could be interesting!!! Although I generally end up wanted to murder at least one friend at the end of a game, not sure it'd be a good idea to add in one more potential murder victim!

But I dooooooooo like super secret surprises. :D

No worries. I would like to murder few people as well when playing.

Yeah, I loved Exploding Kittens but the expansion and app seemed too much for me tbh. Looking forward to my Cyanide and Happiness game which should be coming shortly too!

One for you folks that like miniatures, Vengeance looks pretty amazing. I backed the previous game Posthuman which is remarkably intense. The price point of this one (plus the strange idea that they'll decide shipping costs afterwards) is just enough to stop me taking out the credit card but you guys should check the video out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,015 ✭✭✭Paddy Samurai

Recently received mare Nostrum which I love.
Thinking about backing battalia ,l love the miniatures and like the game idea.
Also will back pirate republic in October when it's relaunched

Too many kickstarters and too many games :(

I'm supporting this one https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/phalanxgames/germania-magna it seems to have nice cooperative and competitive at same time mechanic. Roman style wooden dice are nice add-on, it seems they did some research to make them a bit more historically accurate.

This looks like a great game but it's a pity it's only 2-4 players. I find it very difficult to find properly good 2 player board games but the group I play with has a minimum of 6 people, sometimes more so it definitely wouldn't suit us. Boo. :(

Game about making beer https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1293726726/beer-empire-the-board-game-0/description with a group order of 6 it would drop cost to $30 including shipping.

Just backed the Superhot Card Game. Went for the snazzy version with the game mat and all!

Looks like it could be fun and plays up to three players.

Has anyone here backed the Dark Souls game? I've only just heard about it and would love to pick it up. What way do crowdfunded products work? Will I be able to pick it up in a store or on Amazon, etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19 Abhoth

The Kickstarter campaign for Dark Souls is long over, and the late pledge facility they had is also closed. You will have to wait until it is released. The main game will probably find its way into specialist game stores, but probably not all the expansions. If you decide you want everything, you may be able to get most or all on Amazon or online games stores, but it's more likely that you will be stuck with buying Kickstarter rewards on the secondary market through eBay at an inflated price determined by supply and demand.

Apparently the core/base game will be available from 21 April in stores.

Did anyone here get in on the original Gloomhaven kickstarter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 372 ✭✭JD1763

No I had skipped the original Gloomhaven for various reasons but will be funding the second print run which while more expensive has better dials and rulebook corrections. Should be launching on 4 April I think.

Did anyone here get in on the original Gloomhaven kickstarter?
Yes. It looked interesting and, for a Kickstarter, was cheap to go all in. Looks pretty, but have not tried playing it yet. Reviews are great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 372 ✭✭JD1763

Reviews are good but the game seems to be a bit polarising - people either love it or hate it. Also the discussion over whether it is 'legacy' or not is pretty dumb. Its a backer for me, also backed City of Kings (which for some reason is also being compared to Gloomhaven) and will be backing the two Brass kickstarters when they come out in April.

After going cold turkey on KS, I've gotten sucked back in :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,433 ✭✭✭NomadicGray

The only Kickstarter I've ever backed is The 7th Continent. I'm real tempted by Gloomhaven but its a bit of a risk I think. It'll be one that Im sure Ill only ever play solo and a few people seem to love it as a solo only experience. I think I'll watch a few more videos tonight before the kickstarter takes effect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 372 ✭✭JD1763

And of course CMON announce Zombicide Black Plague Season 2 at the end of the Rising Sun kickstarter. Goddammit.

Did anyone here get in on the original Gloomhaven kickstarter?

No, never heard of it till 3 weeks ago. A friend did and managed to play a single scenario...its damn good.

Even if you leave off the Legacy elements, it has a very good fundamental gameplay system with your action cards acting like a stamina meter and the randomness of the Initiative draw. Never felt like we were getting screwed, just bad luck and had to adapt our plans to accommodate our Brute whiffing his big attack.

Now I have never played D&D so cant comment on how the campaign system might stack up against proper RPG's. It looked good from what I saw though, prosperity of the city evolving your options and event cards unlocking new scenarios (my friends had played the tutorial mission and unlocked a
    sulpher mine
before I jumped in, so it was always available for us as an option).

Def gonna back the 2nd Edt since my bro-in-law is looking to get into more tabletop stuff, the dials are a godsend as could see the health/xp tracks wearing out if you play a long time and potentially replay a class.
