For the Pros question, i guess and chose a helpful person, but I wrote about An T-Adh. Does anyone know how many marks I would lose?
Also, in the letter, I said I went to see a band playing a gig. Again what's the marking like?

Quite a lot of people seem to have done that, I'm not sure on the marking scheme though  Sorry

An Modh Coinníollach would come up they said. There's a pattern they said. Don't rely on patterns I said. How did that go for people?

Feeling okay about Irish today :)

Listening I thought was tough. I could not get what his dad's job was! In the end I threw down Runaí Scoile even though that was his Mam's job but I said it was better than nothing. The other's weren't too bad!

Loved the comprehensions. I thought they were lovely and relatively relaxed. I want one of those monkey's as a pet. If the people in Ogne or wherever get them as a pet, I want one xD

Grammar <3 Aimsir Caite. #Win. I loved life when I seen that. Smiled ear from ear when I seen it. :D Then I flipped the page and almost cried. I did it though and except for part 6 I thought it was okay! Tough but do-able like. What were we even supposed to do for part 6? I didn't get it at all! :P

Essay titles were great. I did B (ii). Nice and simple. No complicated links required and I just wrote about my car crash on the way home from the part time job I got in order to save for an iPhone! :D

    Paper Two was great imo.

Loved the reading comprehension. I did the question on Part B of 'Is mise Sabine' and got the points from the first paragrah, thought that was simple. The part A questions were a little tougher!

I did the duine cliste for an tAdh in the studied fiction. It kind of threw me at first because I was used to mothúcháin and téamí but sure, I get through it grand! :)

The unseen poetry was tough imo, but I got three questions done so it didn't bother me. The studied poetry was grand. Same as most years! :D

I didn't mind the letter question. I just did the Youtube one and wrote about a cat video. Thought it was nice and easy :D

Not sure if I got the A because the listening let me down but I'm still positive about it :D How did everyone else do? :)

You know how there's always that one year in every subject where your teachers warn you 'OK we're studying this but on year x this came up instead so be careful'. I find it hilarious that we ARE that year with our daoine instead of téamaí xD

my poetry/fiction answers were about a page and a quarter long
our teacher said we didn't need quotes for our fiction so i didn't bother

what did you guy get for the 'Alt' questions in the second comprehension on paper 2? like the one where it says the sentence.. and you have to decide whether it was in Alt 1, Alt 2, Alt 3 or Alt 4 :P

Alt 2 & 3. The almost fluent girl in our year said 3 & 2 though. I was livid!

i got 2 & 1, some people were saying it was that, others were saying it was 3 & 1. I dunno wats right though

For the comprehension about the media and the Irish speaking people being united together ect., I got Alt 1 and 3 (can't remember which order)

    Pretty sure I'm right

I guessed 3 and 1 but I forget which order....

Could go either way as I barely checked the text for that question.

Would I lose much marks for my letter if I had written about going to see a concert instead of being in a band but if the points I made sounded like I was in the band?

you were supposed to write about being in a band

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Junior cert1997

I know that but my points had things in it that sounded like I was in the band

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭abcdefghijkl

If you wrote about all the points, you should get the marks. If it seems clear that you misunderstood the question a little, you may lose a few marks, but not many, as long as you have all the points in.

They will only take a handful of marks off of you for something like that. If your Irish is good, relax.
