Bank repossession and tenants.

If/when a bank reposses a house on a buy to let mortgage what happens to the tenants? Does the bank simply turn up and change the locks or do the tenants have a right to see out their contract? If the bank evict the tenants how much notice do they give?

Very gray area legally but the tenant's contract is with the landlord and not the bank.
