lol, whut? There's no "campaign", there's a playlist of maps that you play to unlock the 2 other Titan types, but it's the same maps as the rest of the game, just in a specific order and with some different cut scenes at the start. You don't even have to win, just play.

I think there's an unlock for 'completing' the campaign rotation or reaching a level whichever happens first. Can't be arsed looking for what it is.

hmmm, maybe they've had to adjust it to compensate for the vast majority of the userbase having already completed it and undoubtedly never wanting to see it again :) I flew through it when the game came out, so can't really remember what exactly was involved.

There's two achievements for winning every campaign level as IMC/militia, think that's all.

Stupid that you can't choose which side you want to be on, and also stupid that it quite often throws you into a random map instead of the one that you're trying to play.

Very late to the party.I just picked this up yesterday for the PC.Any one have any suggestions for good youtube channels with hints and tips like Tmatn and those guys for COD? Also anyone know of any PC clans or communities that play regularly?

How is the PC community this long on since launch? I see the season pass is €20 on Kinguin, is it worth it and are the players still there?

isn't it amazing how lure marketing works.
I downloaded (55GB!!!) the 2 day free trial, just nearing its end tonight. Few more hours. Damn this is a cool game. I thought it was noting more than a mech hype game and could never come close tot he finesse of MWONLINE for instance.
Its great, i love the game change element of calling in the heavy mechs, its only flaw for me is the fast pace. A little to nippy.
By times I think it could be slowed down a tad, but then im used to MWO being the snailer it is sometimes.

All in all I might just grab it, and the season pass. is Origin the best price right now (€40)

Also sad for my 7950, 300Euro, about 2 years ago and now is struggling with medium settings at 1080 res.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,893 ✭✭✭Canis Lupus

I bought it there myself a few weeks back and I don't often buy games anymore if you know what I mean. Anyway, I've more than gotten my moneys worth out of it. Great game in short bursts. My only complaint is that it's very samey regardless of the level you're on.

Because you can run up anything you like as a foot soldier there are no real map dynamics. Still, all in all I don't think you can go wrong to splash out on it.

Have you overclocked it? Struggling on medium seems a little strange at 1080p

Most of that seems to be Audio based on the amount of time it took to extract on install and any time there's an update. It's apparently because of some nonsense MS Has with XBone Digital downloads (can't do separate multiple language ISOs or whatever the equivalent is for XBone).

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,893 ✭✭✭Canis Lupus

Actual download is more like 21gb but the HDD footprint is 55+ (my installation folder with all 3 maps packs is sitting at 60gb). Game runs using 35gb of uncompressed audio.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,371 ✭✭✭✭Zillah

I did a little googling. Apparently they use uncompressed audio to save lower end systems from having to decompress on the fly. Good Lord, is it worth it? Maybe give higher end users an option to do the uncompressed version?

  • Registered Users Posts: 757 ✭✭✭platinums

No havent overclocked, Club3d card so its ripe for it. Ive been getting monitor glitches lately so scared to really.

As for the 55GB download, i got the torrent version and stuck it in the Origin Games folder, it synced up another 4GB and I was good to go. Didnt have great BBand at home, didnt have Origin at work.

Balls, it was €39.99 during the free time, now €47, damned procrastination. Anywhere Cheaper? CDGameKeys or some site similar?

Haven't played this in ages, but this sounds interesting

Horde Defense Mode coming in latest update, with new enemies

Is the update out yet? havent played it in ages myself but I'll definitely be having a look in over the weekend. The reducing of the load times alone are enough to pique my curiosity.

Is anyone still playing this on PC?

Oh TitanFall is back... We have a pulse

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

I still dip in for a couple of games once or twice a week - it's still just as much fun as it was and the Horde mode seems like it'll be interesting enough. 200ish enemies + up to 10 titans in support and specialist units such as suicide Spectres and mortar Titans should make for an interesting spind.

As long as it's included in Season Pass DLC options, I'll be happy. I think it was Borderlands who decided that having a season pass wasn't going to give you access to all DLC and that's shady to the max.

Is this still worth getting? Thinking of getting it for the 360 tomorrow. Will I need the the DLC too? I love online deathmatch shooter so its right up my street - is there still people playing it?

I still pop on the 360 version a couple of times a month and don't have any issues getting team deathmatches anyway. I'm sure some of the less popular modes are a bit quieter. Disappointed the 360 season pass isn't on sale with the One version at the moment, would definitely pick it up otherwise, but there's more than enough maps without it being necessary.

I definitely feel the game has been unfairly maligned in a lot of quarters. I genuinely have a blast each and every time I turn it on. Playing through Destiny recently actually only enhanced my appreciation for Titanfall and how its mechanics are designed to ensure every match is dynamic, exciting, varied and interesting, unlike Destiny which IMO does not offer anywhere the same level of fun and engagement. Titanfall to me is an admirably lean, razor-sharp shooter that knows exactly what it is - and while Destiny's mechanics wore-thin quickly, the lure of Titanfall remains strong months after launch.

You choose one or the other. Disc or digital, you cant install from disc and run the game without it.

There's been a number of title updates. So the disc will install the game as it was at launch. Then the updates will need to be downloaded through xbox live, I imagine the updates, all together, would be a substantial size.

I'd disconnect from the internet. Install the game from disc, then connect back to the internet. Then wait for the updates. See what happens then.

Just after getting into this game on xb1, why is the bots in the games? Are they in every game mode?

They're just there for cannon fodder to help you get your titan quicker. The maps are quite big too so they help fill it out. I quite like them, they sort of make it feel like you're in the middle of an actual battle.

There was a game mode with no titans or bots for a while, not sure it's there anymore though. I didn't think it worked very well though as the big maps didn't work with only 12 people on them.
