Forensic Document Analysis In Court - Legitimate Science or Pseudoscience?

Hi, I was reviewing handwriting analysis and want an insight to the practice within the context of the Irish Legal System. Have there been any noteworthy challenges to the admissibility of signature comparison in civil/criminal cases in Ireland? The Daubert test in the USA set a precedent to dismiss any scientific theory that isn't falsifiable. This test does not exist in statute in Ireland, but I wonder would the judge have consideration to decisions handed down in other jurisdictions when making a determination? For instance, in United States v. Fujii., the judge discarded handwriting analysis on the grounds that it didn't fully meet that standards of the Daubert test, that the examiner could not establish the author of the document, merely to point out similarities between the specimens.
