Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He is fine against a crap team like the Faroes against the better quality teams Long would be first choice with Keane on the bench. He should no longer be first choice to start.

"defending from the front" to quote the cliche, great to see, I was half fearing a bit of complacency coming into this

I like how Paddy Power have already paid out on keane scoring....

He stands out against poor teams. Hardly touched the ball against England

    Barca in disguise?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,885 ✭✭✭Optimalprimerib

I think hoolahan is the exact sort of player keane needs to be at his best. Keane was always more quick of mind than quick of feet, so with hoolahans vision both players can prosper. I hope old foldy arms agrees with me

Irish begrudgery is still alive and well I see.

Keane has done pretty well against Germany, Italy, Spain and France over the years. Didn't realise they were poor sides. If they were, it's a pity the other players who played couldn't find it so easy to score against them.

He did very well when he was a lot younger.. He's not half the player he was a few years ago.

Fed up with Wilson and punting it long,

Very frustrating to watch so far as a whole.

Wilson is very very wasteful and I find it painful to watch when he gets the ball.

    2-0 Austria now

    Work them out yourself :P

It puts Sweden in a much tougher place obviously.

    EDIT: 2-0

Sweden have a game in hand over ourselves and Austria and they had a great result in Germany too, so I think the worst result would be a Sweden win. Looks unlikely now but remember Germany were 4-0 up on them...

    McGeady on form.

Hoolahan has looked good and hasn't been scared to put a few decent tackles in. The team needs to funnel more balls through him though. If they do we will get a few more goals.

I wouldn't read too much into that German result. They tend to become complacent after early gains. :)

Always with the unexpected results in Irelands group.

Its a rare skill that Irish teams have honed against crap opposition over the years! Trap has taken them to a new level with this "skill".
