Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hendricks for Whelan please.

All well and good passing the ball more but unless there is some urgency it's not going to win games.

Is Dunphy on the panel tonight? Probably the only entertainment we're likely to see from this game

Its a rare skill that Irish teams have honed against crap opposition over the years! Trap has taken them to a new level with this "skill".

Ah yeah it's Trap's fault the players haven't finished their chances!

Good start,Robbie took the goal well but after that its been depressing stuff.

Good ole Eamo.. always spot on - though Richie is making sense here too

God that was mind numbing stuff. I don't care if Trap gets results I'd rather be entertained and not qualify than watch this muck

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,304 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Would rather see Coleman further up instead of cox, he is well able to do what McGeady has been doing first half. Or just get McClean on for Cox.

Push up more and stop Keane having to drop deep, get the full backs to have some urgency and instead of punting it run with it, or just give in to Hoolahan.

We need more goals, it is not difficult, but they are making it look difficult and difficult to look at.

Well, we could always go back to Stan as manager...

That was always entertaining, edge-of-the-seat stuff:

The Faroes are absolute muck. If we don't tack on a few more goals it will be a bad result.

Is this the same Eamo that ridiculed Bayern all season?

Lot of unnecessary whingeing going on in this thread imo. The team ought to be at least 3-0 up with better finishing. When a team shuts up shop even good sides struggle. I saw the Dutch go in at half-time goalless against Indonesia earlier. Sometimes a poor half is the fault of players.

To be fair I remember that game well, I won't remember watching this faroes game by the time I wake up tomorrow morning it's so uneventful.

This is the perfect example why Internationals shouldn't be played after the "season" has ended.

    Tripe.

No part of the punishment there is sleep depravation and this would have the opposite effect

Hoolahan missed a good chance. Clearly the way Trap has treated him so unfairly the past twelve months is the reason why he missed.

How come every time Ireland play an inferior team we get dragged down to their level?

The missus has just changed the channel and I didn't even bother to complain.

Would it be wrong to laugh if this crowd score??

Thank god for that! Hoolahan setting that up for Coleman to put a great ball into the box.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,325 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Great ball by hoolihan, great cross from coleman, great finish by Keane.

    Robbie has 58 International goals

Faroe's have scored 58 goals in their last 9 1/2 qualification campaigns, dating back to 1996.

Not sure what that proves, but I think it's an interesting enough stat

Caution has to be had here the Faroe League is in its early stages so unlike the Irish who just have finished a grueling season the fresh Faroe legs could catch the defence out.

Hoolahan's contribution is being remarkably overstated.

Against a top side, i.e. not these guys, you can't have Keane and Hoolahan in the same side. Keane is a finisher and must play. Hoolahan is a good player and a nice option but no use to us in the centre of midfield against a decent side.

Georgia aren't a top side by any means, but they are better than this lot.....and hoolihan had a great game vs them. He also plays against top teams in the premier league and looks like he belongs.

He should start every game for us if fit.
