What question wasn't on the syllabus

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0611/455857-leaving-cert/

The OL phase 3 paper had a quotient rule question on it, which I believe is no longer on the syllabus.

Maths wasn't too bad this year, apart from that ballsup with Q8 which threw me a bit all right.

Still, I reckon I should get a C anyway, and at one stage I was thinking of dropping down, so I won't complain too much! ;)

Any quotient question can be solved using product so I don't get this?

Yer man demanding his porn to be unblocked by 3 is a LC poster too is he not, we really have a great bunch over here.
Ah now, he could have just been looking to have the filters removed for innocent reasons. They use yahoo filtering which is truly awful. Even sites like urban dictionary are blocked. Got my filter removed as well.

For the stats long question, please tell me I wasn't the only person to not include the don't knows? Ruined my paper!
I thought about this, did it normally and then added in brackets "possibly up to x including the did not knows" but decided to scribble it out. Still unsure.

Haha, no he was quite clear why he wanted it removed.

One of the best threads I've seen in ages. :D

Pathetic press release IMO. I wonder if they would have done one had we not kicked up a fuss?

The TLDR of it is, yes, there was a mistake. It will not affect you. Here were various mistakes. Sure we had to do 44 Maths exam papers.

I got one as well but with a different Corporate Affairs operator. Word for word otherwise though.

I expect they've sent out thousands of those to-day!

And the reality is that once the issue has been highlighted and brought to their attention, it will be dealt with ... tbh it's really just a waste of your time (most importantly) and theirs flooding them with emails. I can guarantee you that after the first 20 or so, once they were sure they had all the pertinent facts, they were just cutting and pasting the same response in.

Mathematics Examination Papers prepared this year

A total of 44 different Mathematics examina
tion papers were prepared this year; 20 at
Junior Certificate and 24 at Leaving Certif
    icate. This include
    s provision for students
at different stages of the project maths roll-
    out as well as translati
    ons of all papers for
student taking the examination through the medi
um of Irish. There is some overlap
in content between some of these papers.

Independently of these 44 papers, a separa
te set of 44 contingency papers was also
prepared for use in the event of a
security breach or other such need.
