Seeing as there are refunds being offered I think it's worth keeping open so people are aware. Maybe the title could be changed?

    Because it's not cancelled.

    refund sorted.
Girl on phone mentioned that a lot of people were getting refunds.
I don't think they will cancel the gig at this late stage..
    Thanks all for the advice.

so....Was it bonjovi themselves that offered the refund? if so I bet they weren't banking on it being a get of jail clause for people who have had second thoughts because it's the worst slane ever!

Yea, nothing to the contrary saying it's cancelled.

Tickets still on sale, concert still on.

No news anywhere reputable about it being cancelled or even in doubt.

Going to be a fairly poor slane so one would reckon.

    Stupid choice for Slane.

In fact, Slane is ****ing ****e.

Get AC/DC instead, and play Dublin instead ,Muse supporting.

name one outdoor music venue in Dublin that's better than Slane?!

might be a job getting in/out of but Slane is one of the finest venues in Europe when the right band plays!

He/she is making the point that Slane is an excellent value, Dubs tend to sneer at because of their inferiority complex, and it being outside Dublin.

Slane is mostly for filthy casuals who just want their big day out. It should f**k off back to the 80s

I grew up in the village and have witnessed over a dozen concerts at this stage...
Slane used to be the highlight of the year for us and a pride of place for a music lover such as myself.
The last few years though it has really lost its way... with MCD in control it's become commercialised to bits!
It was once a trophy venue to the giants of rock at one stage!! That's the key to it's success... and it's quite simply being ignored with naff bookings such as Eminem, Madonna, Kings of ****e, etc...
Time to bring the AC/DCs, Pink Floyd, even Metallica would be class to see!!

    Slane isn't a venue, it's a fúcking field.

pheonix park, it wins on account of not being in the middle of nowhere, and is in the competition because it too is a field

Slane's a whole lot more accessible than that place that hosts the orgy of middle class mediocrity and fedora fest, the electric picnic.
