Well thought it was wayy easier than the mocks. However I still did quite poorly, as comparing my answers with everyone else's mine were all different (and everyone else got the same answer :L)

The people who are good at maths in my year thought it was so easy they were laughing :P

Was the easiest paper I have came across with, but I have no idea what happened to me, it as if KARMA struck me, I done very bad in it despite even me knowing it was very easy paper, I was quite disapointed they did not put the theroems in after spending ages learning them :(

I just really hope I get 200 marks in it because that is all I need to secure my B :(

Upset theorems didn't come up because I knew them off by heart A+++ because I am diabolical at Maths and it was the one Q I thought I was guaranteed the marks
    oh well

Am I the only one who's happy that theorems didn't come up? Because I didn't even know them.

I'm worried that Paper 2 really was TOO awesome.. I think DublinArnie is right in the fact that they ain't gunna be throwing A's around this year after looking at paper 2.

Sure they made quite a few mistakes in p2 so I for one believe they should be throwing As in the pie chart question where it asked you find the number of girls who kept their phones under pillow the answer was a decimal, and I had gotten the answer so many times but like obviously from common sense you cannot have xxxx.x girls !!!
And yeah people so you were supposed to round it off, from doing all the past papers, for a question that has a decimal it always says to round of so we are sure, they should reduce the whole question to 5 marks ONLY!!! I did not do the whole question because of how craply worded the question was laid out or other wise I would had gotten all parts to it
    Disappointed SEC

Yeah that confused me so much! I kept re-doing it and continually got the same decimal answer it was extremely frustrating!

I agree 100% with you there. That question was worded TERRIBLY. The last two questions I wasn't quite sure what they were asking me, but I'd say I still got full marks :)

If the papers go up on examinations.ie let me know :)

Ugh that's so unfair :( Wish it was harder now, haha. Do they do the same at leaving cert? That could mess up people's career choices....

They do it so that no exam is harder than another, like even if it is a way harder or easier paper they will want same number of A's, B's C's etc every year. In french, they completely change the amount of marks per question so that they get same amount. In a way its unfair because if there are too many A's, you can be put down to a B but vice versa, if not enough get A's and you got like 83% and your examiner thought you wrote well but you didnt write enough points, you can be bumbed up to an A. I hope that makes sense to you :D

What answer did people get for Q1 part D where it asked how many flagstones are needed to cover the pavement.

I got 507 this is how..

    13 m/0.8 m = 16.25 (find how many fitted in length)
    13 m/0.5 m = 26 (find how many fitted width)
    16.25 x 26 = 422.5 (find area)
    422.5 x 20/100 = 84.5 (20% extra)
    422.5 + 84.5 = 507
    Therefore he needs 507 flagstones

    I got like. 169m^2 was the area of the patio. Flagstones were 50 x 80 = 4000cm^2.

    169 x 100 = 16900cm^2

16900/4000 = 4.225 flagstones. He will need to purchase full flag stones, so he needs to buy 5 of them.

My friend notes, and I will put it here, that it said with 20% waste, and therefore, 20% of 5 = 1, 1+5 = 6.

    F**k.. I added 16.25 and 26 -_- I got 50.7

i changed the cm into m at the beginning ;)

yes but think about it, 13 metres, and the flagstones were 5 Centimetres by 8 Centimetres so it can be 6

16,900cm^2 is the area of the patio.

    Each flagstone is 50 x 80, so 4000cm^2.

    4000 x 507 = 2028000cm^2. I don't get it, tbh, but you could be right.

for centimetres squared i think you times it more than 100 times
You would turn 13m into centimetres would be 1300
    do 1300^2 is 1690000
    then 1690000/4000 = 422.5
so your way would have worked but you converted it wrong

it means metres squared, since you cant actually do a squared sign, thats what people do
