Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Central Criminal Court procedures?

My OH is going to be called as a witness in a case in the Central Criminal Court shortly. He wants me to accompany him, so I just have a couple of questions: I know every case is different but if he is called on a certain day is there a likelihood that he might not be asked to take the stand on that day and would need to return until he does get called.

Is it the norm that all witnesses are called to court on the first day and have to return each day until called.

What is the procedure re: me going into the courtroom. Is the public gallery open to anyone on the day and you just show up? will my OH be sitting in a different section.

Sorry if these questions seem trivial but I really have no experience with a court case / room at any level.

It is possible that he might not be called on the day he is due to be called. He will be told what day to be there and if he isnt called, he will be told what day to come back on.

The courtroom is open to the public except in some circumstances ie cases involving children, and you can sit with your OH in the normal public gallery until he is called and he can take the stand.

If you get a chance it might be worth popping in to the CCJ any day of the week to have a look for an hour and familiarise yourself.

Thanks NoQuarter, I probably won't get the opportunity to visit the court before the case comes up, but at least now I have some idea what to expect.
