    What?! €500 quid??? Madness!!!!

I'll hold out for as long as possible to see if they get cheaper... Nah I have a laptop, will never go for a desktop... Too much hassle!

I was in the same boat as you. But I got a desktop....didn't put me out the door, it was affordable. I buy parts from https://www.hardwareversand.de and I find them to be fantastic. Have a gander around the pre-built machines if you don't fancy putting in the research but it's definitely an investment compared with the consoles.

If you have Sky in your home, you must be dishing out some amount of money on an annual basis. If you get a desktop, cancel your Sky/UPC subscription and get all the channels you want completely FREE - a money saver right there.

The same with games - Steam will plough out sales....no more Gamestop heaven forbid. And the Russians are kind enough to let me try out their games before I buy. ;)

I play my desktop with an XB controller too. And if you don't fancy going through Windows, you can always download Valve's Big Picture as your start up screen.

The Xbox One is dropping by £30 in the UK from February 28 and from March 14 for "a limited time" it will come bundled with a code for Titanfall, don't think we'll see anything like that here though.

The XB1 is selling well below estimates and Microsoft are well aware of this.

The PS4 hasn't even released in Japan yet (their primary market that they dominate over MS)....Sony will make their comeback in this generation.

PS4 was released in Japan over the weekend sold 325K in 2 days! I think MS might cut the price here as well as they might try and win some market share back in a strong Playstation market like ireland

They'd want to do something fast...

For every Xbox One sold, two PS4's are being shipped out the door!

That bundle with titanfall is actually of good enough value that it'd be worth ordering from amazon and getting it delivered by parcel motel if it doesn't get offered over here.

    399.00 GBP = 484.404 EUR
    British Pound ↔ Euro
    1 GBP = 1.21404 EUR 1 EUR = 0.823693 GBP
    Mid-market rates: 2014-02-25 16:56 UTC

I played a lot of the beta, and Its definitely a breath of fresh air, but I dont think it'll ever kill COD. If anything, It'll exist as it own separate thing much the way halo does.

This whole COD killer thing is ridiculous. The gaming industry is like the music industry, there is no saturation point. If you make something good people will buy it, and if you make something sh!t people will buy it in enormous quantities.

It's not really ridiculous talk at all . At some stage an FPS will come along and kill COD . It will happen at some stage and from playing titanfall it does stand to make a lot of ground on COD . Titanfall felt like B02 because I had a lot of fun playing it and I had the same feeling with B02 . The IW games are just not that much fun to play so I will be waiting for the next treyarch version of cod before I buy one again .

I think it's going to kill both of them on Xbox one in the short term. The system is crying out for new games and this is the first 'big one'. Bf4 could do with the time to get it's act together anyway, and it still has 3 rounds of DLC to come out yet as well.

In fairness, Titanfall was made for the next generation consoles - the latest COD was not.

Let's see what the next installment brings

Ok so confirmed in the next CoD:
    Guns.
    Lighting.
A map, possibly in a powerplant.
    A PDA on your wrist.

    So, anyone playing titanfall? thoughts?

I've played about 6 hours and am enjoying it so much. Since mw2 I've put in between 400 to 500 hours at the very very least. Can't check anymore because I sold my 360. But it's so refreshing to play. I do not get annoyed or angry with this game when I die like in cod. If I die it's my own fault and thats something that I rarely felt in Cod, lag etc. I have exams next week so next Sunday will be a long session :) I can't wait !!

yeah, the almost complete absence of Lag is amazing, Im getting pings of 25ms, its incredible. Considering that this is the first game to properly use the Microsoft servers, I have high hopes that the next call of duty games could maintain that standard.

Not yet, I was going to get it on the 360 to fill in for Ghosts which I'm not playing anymore, it's been delayed again though until the 8th of April while Bluepoint Games jump up and down on it so it fits on a 360 disc...or something :pac:.

I,LL probably get it for the 360.
I don,t think this will have much effect on cod,
cod, has spec ops, zombies.many different modes and perks.
Titanfall is much more limited ,
i could maybe play it for a week.
Maybe titanfall 2 will have more modes, different modes, more types of robot.
    eg survival wavebased maps,
where you have to take over buildings.
Defend it against various human and robot enemys ,
and you can place turrets and mines in different areas,
Some walls could be destroyed to make new routes thru buildings.
    AS in cod survival maps.
Maybe they could have different classes.
each classes uses different weapons gets different perks
    Support class ,engineer, etc

IT seems more newbie friendly as you can use a robot , kill ai grunts , build up xp, without being a super expert cod player.

I'm sorry but Titanfall has one thing COD is seriously lacking . That is pure enjoyment . COD has been hit and miss as an enjoyable game for awhile now . COD was built to be the game you jump on and play for awhile to have fun with your mates but Titanfall seriously kills cod in this regard . Since titanfall has been released I haven't even touched COD and I don't plan on going back for awhile .

So I suppose the big question is, when the next version of each game comes out will you choose Titanfall 2 over the next COD or will you buy both?

I suspect that at least for the next game, many gamers will buy both games. I think the game after that is when we'll see the true impact as gamers eventually choose one series over the other.

I know I just speak for myself and that I have said this before but there is no way in hell I will ever buy a CoD game again.

Its not only because of the game itself not being entertaining (for me), its more because of the way they have let the older games rotten and allowed hackers to take over them without even caring about us.

I am sorry but this will be like buying a car from a car dealer having nothing but trouble, trying to get them to fix it with had no response or even an attempt to do it but then a year later I go and buy another car from them... I am just not into that, I still have a sense of pride

Right now I will buy titanfall 2 . I played cod ghost last week for an hour and it drove me mad . I actually hate the game and it has no fun factor to me at all .

Totally agree. I accept it's in their interest to allow this but it's seriously annoying getting OHKd from across the map with a shotgun. Sigh!

Just reading through the thread for the first time. Bought an Xbox One out of sheer boredom a few months ago. Was looking forward to Titanfall and rather enjoyed the beta and the first week of the game after it's release. Haven't gone near it since. I don't know really why though. It's fun, but it was never COD heyday fun, nor BF3 and to a lesser extent, BF4 fun.

Yup same deal. I also enjoyed the beta and was fortunate to have a beta code early. I ended up playing pretty much every day the beta was out and just loving it. When the game was released I played the heck out of it till I hit prestige 5. That's where I had to do the Gooser Challenge. I played all night to get that completed. When I did the next day they updated it on Xbox one so players would only have to get 5 kills. After that, I just lost all interest really.
