Christopher Columbus believed the world was round and he believed by sailing west he could find a new trade route to India.

He went to study law at Erfurt.

As mentioned above he wanted to become a lawyer but he was stuck in a terrible storm and he prayed to God that if he saved him he would become a monk.

Bias - Altering the facts to suit your argument. One-sided
Propaganda - Wrongly portrayed media used by dictators to gain support.
Archive - Place where all old documents and files are kept, usually in a museum.
Primary Source - First hand information from the time e.g a diary entry
Seconary Source - Second hand information by someone who hadn't witnessed the event e.g history textbook

I asked a question, you should have read the question above and answered it.

Anyhow Mussolini was killed because of the following

Mussolini and his mistress Clara Petacci were stopped by communist partisans and identified by the political commissar of the partisans' 52nd Garibaldi Brigade, Urbano Lazzaro, on April 27, 1945, near the village of Dongo (Lake Como), as they headed for Switzerland to board a plane to escape to Spain. Mussolini had been traveling with retreating German forces and was apprehended while attempting to escape recognition by wearing a German military uniform. After several unsuccessful attempts to take them to Como they were brought to Mezzegra. They spent their last night in the house of the De Maria family.

The next day, Mussolini and his mistress were both shot, along with most of the members of their 15-man train, primarily ministers and officials of the Italian Social Republic. The shootings took place in the small village of Giulino di Mezzegra. According to the official version of events, the shootings were conducted by "Colonel Valerio" (Colonnello Valerio). Valerio's real name was Walter Audisio. Audisio was the communist partisan commander who was reportedly given the order to kill Mussolini by the National Liberation Committee. When Audisio entered the room where Mussolini and the other fascists were being held, he reportedly announced: "I have come to rescue you!... Do you have any weapons?", He then had them loaded into transports, driven a short distance, Audisio ordered "get down", Petacci hugged Mussolini and refused to move away from him when they were taken to an empty space. Shots were fired and Petacci fell down, just then Mussolini opened his Jacket and screamed "Shoot me in the chest!". Audisio shot him in the chest, Mussolini fell down but he didn't die, he was breathing heavily, Audisio went near and he shot one more bullet in his chest. Mussolini's face looked as if it he had significant pain, Audisio said to his driver "Look at his face, the emotions on his face doesn't suit him". The other members were also lined up before a firing squad later the same night

What was the Cuban Missile Crisis?

It was in 1959 when Fidel Castro and Che Guevara overthrew a corrupt government in Cuba and set up a communist government. America banned trade with Cuba and Cuba called on USSR (Khrushchev) for help. The US noticed that the USSR were locating missiles in Cuba that could destroy whole cities within minutes of a launch.

JFK made a public TV announcement in October 1962: saying that 1. he would not allow missiles to be launched from Cuba, 2.US navy ships placed a blockade around Cuba, 3. if a missile was fired from Cuba the USA would launch a full-scale nuclear attack on USSR and 4. American B-2 atomic bomber planes were in the air in case of an attack.

For two days USSR ignored this. SOviet ships continued to Cuba and the world tensely waited for war. Finally on 24th Oct. Khrushchev ordered ships to stop. Negotiations between the two countries ended on 28th with a compromise: 1. USSR had to remove missiles from Cuba. 2. USA could not attack Cuba and 3. JFK secretly promised to remove missiles on USSR border in Turkey.

Results: 1. Nuclear war had just been narrowly avoided. Co-operation between two countries improved afterwards. 2. A 'hotline' was set up between the Presidential offices of USSR and USA. 3. A Test Ban Treaty was signed in 1963 banning the testing of nuclear weapons at land or sea

Sorry for really long rant but it was good revision for me and might help someone else!

Q: What was the Act of Union 1801?

    Whoops, missed the first part:
    Born in Cork, Ireland 1890.
Emigrated to London- worked in Post Office & Bank.
Joined the Irish Volunteers, returned to Ireland in 1916, fought in GPO in 1916 Rising
After defeat, arrested, sent to prison camp in England and became a leader.
