    Hello,

We're possibly looking to move to Corbally and it seems that Scoil Ide is the school that is easiest to reach (still not too easy, though). Our boy will be going to 3rd class.

How good is that school? I know it is huge, but also seems to have good facilities like a science lab (though I wonder how much access kids actually get). How good is the atmosphere, would a child of a different background and religion (we're originally from Russia and also are Church of Ireland) be safe there?

And what kind of secondary schools would we be looking at? Being CofI, would we have a chance of a Villiers place if we go for Scoil Ide, provided we can afford it by the time?

    Thanks!

How good is that school? We have put one fully through and the youngest one is there now, our experience is that it is an excellent school I know it is huge, but also seems to have good facilities like a science lab (though I wonder how much access kids actually get). How good is the atmosphere, would a child of a different background and religion (we're originally from Russia and also are Church of Ireland) be safe there? Nationality will not be an issue, other nationalities already there, Eastern European, Asian etc, not 100% sure about the religion side of things, safety will not be an issue IMO

And what kind of secondary schools would we be looking at? Being CofI, would we have a chance of a Villiers place if we go for Scoil Ide, provided we can afford it by the time? Former Scoil Ide pupils have gone on to Villiers so yes, that's an option for you

    Thanks!

The area in question is Abbeylock and the school confirmed things on their side. Thanks!

How is it "still not too easy" to reach, exit Abbeylock, straight down Old Park Road (if walking) & turn right, school about another 100m, traffic can be slow sometimes though

"No right turn" sign at exit of Old Park Road :(

Walk is unsafe for 8 yo to do alone, and then there is the weather!

Scoil Ide is a good school. Abbeylock is a mixed area.

Plenty of other options to access the school driving. Go via Supervalu, or through Janemount Park.

It's not far - easily walkable on a nice day.
