    Hi all,

Trying to work out which is cheaper .... exchange money beforehand or just use ATM.

    From Ulster Bank .....

2% of transaction amount + 1.5% of transaction amount

Was it always this expensive or is it a case of more stealth bank charges?

    Keith

Is that with credit card, or debit?

    Visa Debit -

Transaction amount is minimum €3 to a max of €12
    + 1.5%

The problem with exchanging money beforehand you may need to carry around / store large amounts of cash. I'd rather use an atm and withdraw the money when i need it. Just check how much your bank lets you withdraw in one transaction while overseas.
