Golden Wedding anniv. - what's appropriate gift?

I've been invited to a couple's Golden Wedding Anniversary party this weekend. I'm not sure what sort of appropriate gift I could get them. Does it have to something with gold or is that idea a thing of the past? Any advice or suggestions welcome. Where in Limerick would be a good place to buy an appropriate present?

I think the theme of Gold is nice to keep to for such an occasion. Something like gold candle stick holders might be nice?
You could try Allen's on William Street for a nice gift. Or Shaws & Carraig Donn in the Crescent.
