duathalon in sept

    I am new to running currently im 20 stone who plays rugby, i am looking to aim to partake in a cork duathlon in sept. and run 10kraces increasing to marathons.
    it may take seem like q long shot but im confidant. my training started by walking 3k slowley to walking a 10 k now on my route i take markers where i start jogging and try ro beat the next stage where i walk through time i will be able to jog the route and from there work on my times.

    am i approaching my training right and would there be anyrhing i can do to improve quicker

    oh i also use the my tracks app to help me keep on track
