Hi what's the difference between ich will and ich werde? How do you know which one to use?

ich will is I want to. It's one of the six modal verbs. Ich werde is I will - as in the future tense. However you can use the present tense to imply the future if you have a future time in the sentence. Like English. z.B. Ich gehe am Freitag ins Kino. Ich werde is also I become but its important because of its future role.

^ that's how my German teacher explained it.
