Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sounds like Drogs should be winning in Tallaght..

    They'll concede now I've said that :o

Didnt even look like there was Emergency lighting in the stadium. Wouldn't like to have to make my way out of that:eek:

We dodged a bullet tonight big time.Very poor performance against not great opposition.

Drogheda down to 10 for the last 15. Ryan Brennan off.

Hopefully they can hold on for a draw.

Malmo are streaming the game on their site but it costs €10!

Surprised if Drogheda hold on here.

Decent result for a side in eighth place and not in form to be holding Malmo with 10 men. Even a close defeat is fairly impressive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,259 ✭✭✭TheRedDevil10

FT 0-0. That's a great result for Drogs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,379 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

I know its not LOI but fair play to Crusaders, only conceding in the 78th min to lose 2-1 at home to Rosenborg and Glentoran are 0-0 away to KR Reykjavik with 15 to go

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

    2 good results for LOI.

    Both have a chance now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 887 ✭✭✭steirishrover

Good night for LOI.. Our Super saints were poor but battled on and got a great result to bring 2 goals back but that lad Bilinski is a danger to watch in inchicore..

Even better result by Drogs... Didn't see the game but great result by 10 men.. Didn't Malmo only beat Rangers a couple of seasons ago?? Well done both

yes pats have a home tie now with two away goals and the drogs can always nick an away goal in sweden

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,086 ✭✭✭markc1184

Drogs should have had a penalty in the 1st half IMO. Defender clearly took the legs of Cassidy. Some laughable decisions from the ref throughout the 1st half. The linesman was almost asking permission from the ref to raise his flag and that was when he was actually in line with play. Pretty hefty challenge on Prendergast seemed to liven things up and Drogs started to get on top from there. Drogs stuck to their game plan in the 2nd and were in the ascendancy when Ryan got sent off. From there it was trying to hold out and they done it well although the Malmo forward probably should have scored with a couple of minutes to go but Sava made a good save with his feet. Drogs players done themselves and the Club proud. Really looking forward to the trip to Sweden next week now.

Great stuff from us tonight. Pity Ryan Brennan had to let us down. We were comfortable at that stage and at the very least looked like seeing it out while trying to nick a winner. Backs to the walls after dropping to 10 men.

We played some great stuff and I wouldn't rule out scoring over there. You never know.

Keep up the hope lads i wish you all the best in Malmo next week

Gavin Brennan was immense in the first half for Drogs. I've always thought he was a very good player but he always gave me the impression that he wasn't giving it his all. Bit lazy or something.

Tonight he gave everything. Defending really well, breaking up play, tracking back and dispossessing as well as putting a few great balls into the box. Definitely my man of the match.

He was bolloxed by the end but put in a great shift alright. Between himself McNally and Byrne tonight for MOTM.

Ref had bit of a nightmare when it came to some vital decisions for Drogheda but overall a very solid performance against a team with better technical players. A bit paniciky towards the end but thats understandable with 10 men and the danger of an away goal.

Malmo knocked Rangers out of the Champions League qualifiers last season.

Good results for both sides. Expect Pats to finish the job in Inchicore and Drogs have given themselves every chance of causing an upset. As said above, the Drogs result is particularly impressive given their recent league form.

Remember Cork City won over in Sweden not so long ago and knocked a very good Djurgardens team out of Europe. It was a good match to go to. Except for their fans - we had to be escorted to the subway station by the Police.

Should have beaten them, sloppy and tired at the beiginning.

Came into tho and should have won it.

Good results. Only caught the start of the Pats game but saw a few highlights today. Some strike for the second goal.

Highlight of them game though was the lad milling himself on the hoarding after his goal. Worth the flight to Lithuania for those who made it.

    goal at around 6min

I remember the same thing happening to a Vllaznia player when he scored against us over there. He sort of slipped when he went to hop the advertising board and ran straight into it :pac:.

    Found it

What a goal by O'Brien. I have to say that looked fairly even but Zalgiris looked very very dangerous. They used to be a constant presence in the Soviet top division when it existed

The two goals Pats conceded were poor. Looked like a bad day at the office from a defensive point of view - I'd expect them to keep things much tighter in Richmond.

Cracking day for a match in Malmo. I'd gladly take a score draw.

Good luck to Pats tonight too.

I was told about 500 Drogs fans over in Sweden. Not bad considering their gates this season.

I definitely dont think there is close to 500. I came on Tuesday and there was about 15 on our flight then there was others on a different flight. The charter was pretty full too with another flight arriving last night which supposedly had another 40 or so. I think there will be around 250 but it'll be hard to gauge until we are together in the stadium. The majority here are people you'll see at most games.

250 wouldn't be bad either considering its first round and in a relatively expensive country.

Still another 45 to go. Drogheda just nick one and they're in the driving seat. Easier said than done I know.
