If anyone works in the Airport, or in and around that area, or somewhere / anywhere else that has a passing interest, Would you consider printing and posting these LiveAtc advert flyers up?

I was listening in the car on my way to work this morning from around 8.30 to 9.00 and it was very busy. Lots of inbound planes holding at both KERAV and SORIN.

Busiest I've heard it in a while.

I realise it is a bit outside the thread topic but I would expect that Names could do Q&A on the "Great Big ask a pilot" thread....

Or start another one called ask the controller a question, there are plenty of us here to answer any question.

    "Ask an expert" thread?

Hmmm then we'll bring all the loons out from conspiracy theories

'Ask an aviation professional' or something yeah. 'Ask an expert' would attract "experts"

Edit: Actually yeah Tenger, there are good experts too who aren't necessarily license holders. Hmmm

That mounted on the chimney Pat? Im looking to pop up two antenna's in the next few weeks, one for the radar box then i'll try feed it. second maybe a scanner.

Just watch the neighbors dont report ya as you can only go 5m without planning permission. :)

Yeah its on the chimney, Dont think its above 5m, the antenna specs say its 1.7M total length so im guessing double that plus a meter so 4.5 or thereabouts above the ridge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭Mech1

But we dont wanna discuss that subject anymore:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,561 ✭✭✭andy_g

Just so ya know its 5m from the top of the highest point on the structure :P and they dont include the antenna when checking so the mast can go to 5m :P

whats my best deal on a "radar box"? looks like whoever our local feeder is, is having trouble. Flight radar24 keeps losing all, or even not monitoring some flights.

2nd hand they can be hard to find and those that are available are snapped up quickly.

Im not really worried about 2nd hand, was more thinking of buying new. Then possibly tapping into my main antenna to feed it.
