I didn't necessarily mean in that order.

Just that you don't have to cook the eggs separately.

You don't have to cook the eggs seperately, true. That doesn't make it right though, my method above is the right way to make fried rice.

What's the reasoning behind using cold rice when stir frying it?

It doesn't clump together as much as warm rice.

I didn't say it wasn't. My point was that you can fry the rice and eggs together. That's all.

This has seriously put me off rice.

On another note I have started blending up raw eggs and frozen berries, it's good

bought blueberries from tescos a couple of times. Never again

no taste, no flavour and not juicey at all

all in all a disappointing 1/10

Lidl blueberries are €1.79 for 250g at the moment. I have about 4 packs in the fridge. At that price they don't even have to have a taste.

I am willing to believe that the nutrional content in the tescos berries were ZERO no taste, no nothing

probably been frozen for 3 years before being put on the shelf :pac:

You can do a lot of things you shouldn't.

I take fried rice very seriously. Possibly too seriously.

But the eggs and rice are in the pot together when you make it, right?

I might even give your recipe a try.

But I'll add the egg in after the rice just to spite you :)

Made a tit of myself tonight.

Was unloading the bar after squatting, but my attention was on a bench where one lad asked for a spot and the guy spotting him was helping with hands on the bar before he was asked and before the lad needed it.

Busy muttering under my breath I didn't realise I took the last plate of one side before touching the other sides plates. Cue bar and 55kg of plates crashing to the ground across the deadlift platform.

Thank god nobody was deadlifting or walking around and the worst consequence of m stupidity was dirty looks!

Yea, that happened to me last night, spotter decided I needed help before I asked for it. 'I've got it'. 'Er...thanks '.

How many days should you usually take to rest before testing a max?

Finished Smolov Jr for my squat today, so was thinking of testing maybe tuesday or wednesday. I asked a few more experienced lads in the gym who said maybe wait until friday, but I usually find that I can be a bit sluggish if I take a couple of days off, and I my recovery time has flew up since I started lifting with more frequency.

I'd say Wednesday at the earliest. I'd have said 5 days was about standard but to each his own. Wouldn't be taking less than 4 days though, personally

I'll try wednesday so. My recovery is quite good at the moment as I'm used to 3-4x a week squatting and I'm in a surplus too. Gonna see how this transfers to my deadlift too.

Everyone that does it is squatting that much - there is a sweet spot, the supercompensation. The timing of that will differ from person to person. But 4-5 days will probably be about right

The website doesn't say anything for SmolovJr., but for the base cycle on Smolov it says Saturday.

But I also read on some forums that a lot of people felt sluggish after 6-7 days rest and felt they could've done better if they tested a few days earlier.

Switched to going to the gym at 6:30am instead of 6pm.

Energy/motivation levels much higher and I still feel like I have free time in the evenings to just lay around and eat like a lazy slob.

If you're following a program, you just go and get it done.

    Add coffee to taste.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,672 ✭✭✭✭Mr. CooL ICE

Been doing it for a few months too. Had a shot of coffee and a banana when I started doing it but realised I didn't need the coffee.

I spend approx 10 minutes longer doing warmups and stretching (depending on how awkwardly I slept). Add something like short plyo jumps on squat day to get the heart pumping also helps.

I've switch from morning to evening now that i know my other branch is a lot bigger and quieter in the evening
Sleep in in the morning :D

I would prefer to train early morning but 0600-0800 is even busier than the 1700-1900 period in my place. Add to that time pressure to get finished and get working and it's sub-optimal for me.

A.m training on the weekends is much nicer.

Work is absolutely destroying my evenings lately so I'll be joining a 24 hour gym and getting there for 4:30am. That's the plan! Now I just need to get the time to go and join :-(

For 6 months last year I trained everyday 5:45 to 6:30am. A couple of extra minutes to mobilise and you are sorted. No need for anything to rev you up. Having 2 hours extra everyday and getting to sleep much faster/smoother was vastly superior

    Silly big pull.

    Is he a junior still?

Seems weird the IPF world record's only 305kg.

He posted this along with it on FB, so I'd assume he is still Jr. He's 22 I think.

Which record is that? Find it hard to sort through them tbh.

Powerlifting watch have the raw record at 684lbs/310kg
But IPF sites lists 340kg (but in not sure what the "original" category means)

IPF Raw Classic 83kg Jr is what you'd be looking at.

PL Watch usually collates all the feds.

    it's a weird one.
