Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    How so?

    I was playing with my daughter, chasing her round the sofa and my small toe met the wooden leg of the sofa at high speed. Toe is fairly bruised and the foot is bruised for and inch or so behind it. I can't put much weight on it this morning.

    Would you be more interested in a range of classes specialising in bodyweight training, ie stretching and mobility, rings, acrobatics or an integrated program which covers all bases?

    I'd pick the latter because you'd no doubt be dealing with a range of abilities. Now if they only want to work on, say, mobility for the duration of the program then I'd let them. They will also see others doing ring work and acrobatics which may pique their interest to give that a shot when they're comfortable or on the next cycle of the program.

    Isnt an integrated one just Crossfit?

    Mass market- integrated.
    Personally- First one as they are all areas Im quite weak in.

    Crossfit in my mind is something quite specific. An integrated program would be more aiming to build a movement machine ie in complete control of their body.

    I assumed he meant an integrated body weight program, which is a but more specific than crossfit in general- although this is probably going to be a new class at a crossfit gym.
    Mass market- integrated.
    Personally- First one as they are all areas Im quite weak in.
    If they are all areas you are weak in would it not make sense to go for the second one that covers them all. But maybe I have the wrong idea if what's being suggested.

    That or I'd spend my career bemoaning the lack of equipment good enough to test my theories with and whiling away the time waiting for said equipment establishing myself as a leading figure in the world of first-person shooter games.

    I was trying to point out that some people are much more willing to spend money to get someone else to tell them what to do, than to read up on what the best coaches in the world recommend and apply it to their own needs/goals.

    Maybe I could have phrased it more gently, but the facts remain: the information is out there if you know what you're looking for, and it's not that difficult to understand.

    One of the main problems my clients say to me is that there's too much information and they're just not sure what they're meant to do. The problem is probably the basics are so basic that with all the specialised systems and methods out there they seem like they wouldn't work.

    I could see that in terms of designing a whole training reigime, but the poster I was replying to was just asking about mobility work.

    I'm fine with people going to personal trainers, more power to them, it's good to see anyone trying to get fit, and if fellas can make an honest living from helping people get strong and fit, then fair play to them too.

    I just don't like how some of these trainers make it out that what they do is revolutionary, and that just by working out with them you'll get magical results. Plus all the bare-faced lies you see being spread all over the place.
    Guaranteed 1 million% fat-loss in 0 weeks and elongate your dong at the same time.

    I know yeah, I'm well aware the info is out there. Thats not the issue. The information is out there for a lot of things yet still people need coaching/teaching.

    My point is, its difficult to teach yourself something correctly give the amazing ability of the human brain to self affirm. I'm willing to spend a bit to get shown it, and shown it properly by someone qualified.

    This isn't really my issue. My issue is being shown an appropriate, progressive and assessable mobility and stretching program.

    I can youtube all day, same as I can youtube or exrx gym programs all day but being taught a tried and tested method saves me time and injury.

    So this week my little brother ( I say little, he's in his 20's) started drinking hypermass shakes.

    He's a chain smoker who has never done any exercise in his life also he has the worst diet I've ever seen. Takeaways everyday and microwave hotdogs etc. He's never cooked anything, up until this week though he'd usually only eat once a day and fill in the rest of the day with smokes. So he's a skinny fooker. sort of junky skinny like.

    So now he's taking hypermass and upped his takeaway intake, a takeaway for lunch and for dinner.

    I finally seen him today and I was like "what's the story with trying to get fat?" He said, "I'm trying to put on weight", I said "Yeah....fat.., why do you want to get fat?"

    He went on to say, he's going to join a gym at some point but wants to get fat before he joins, so he can "turn it into muscle."

    I tried to talk to him, but he thinks he knows everything so I just said forget it, have fun.

    It's just the reverse of those people who don't want to build muscle because of how it magically turns into fat when you're older.

    Does anyone know where to get wheat germ? I had never even heard of it until a week ago but now I need some for a recipe.

    My local Tesco and Supervalu don't seem to have it. Is it something I should be able to get in a supermarket or would health shops have it? What brand/package should I be looking for.

    FWIW, I got it in Holland in Barrett after. €2.55 for 375g.

    20 minutes, three times a week on the treadmill and next thing I was all like "Eat my dust, Bekele".

    I know a woman who did deadlifts once, she grew a testicle after one set and never set foot in the gym again. Now she just sits at home, alone, with tears flowing down her beard.

    It's tragic.
