Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You already posted about it. Were you just hoping someone else would step up for the actual video+****storm part?

Anyone here train in Anatomical Fitness Castleknock?

A vid has just some across my facebook news feed showing this chap half squatting 100kg about to be folded in half by the bar.

Claims of 6kg muscle gain in a month as well.

This is the kinda **** that ruins good, solid PT businesses. Perversely, it probably gains them short term but ****s them long term.

I know this kind of stuff has been mentioned here before but just having a rant.

I've seen the video. I'd probably look similar if I tried to lift 100kg and would refrain from putting it on the internet for that reason.

No. Not really. Don't see the point.
I always am interested in how they manage to get figures wrong like the muscle gain thing, and how they word it. Usually its presuming that if there is a drop in fat then all other gains can only be muscle, never accounting for water or other possible differences.

Often its not all out deliberate lies, and many reading it will think their logic is sound and so continue these faulty calculations/conclusions themselves, so that can be the point of showing it.

lol. Ok. I can see the difference between having a rant and posting a video where the person is clearly identifiable. If you cant. Thats fine. I wont be posting it.

Its not about the weight. God knows my squat isnt much heavier.

The worst thing is the guy is clearly trying his best. Bad direction unfortunately.

You are right, but you and I that any PT that makes these basic errors or miscalcs and outlandish claims isn't worth a shíte. If we are to take your stance we could probably rationalise anything.

Ah sure the bankers weren't lying about Anglo, they prob just didnt know or realise the heap of **** they were in. Incompetence is incompetence.

btw, I know you weren't rationalising rather just giving the benefit of the doubt.

It's a public video but you can only comment on it if you are friends of the uploader.

Don't see why it can't be posted.

You see this kinda ****e in every gym out there.

No the thing that makes this worse is that a "PT" put this up who is proud. His level of training is zero. He did a 2hr online cert and magically is now a "PT".....anything put up for the public to see is allowed to be commented on.

    *rant

About 99% of "PT's" in this country haven't a notion of how to properly structure a programme, perfect a lift technically or even know the dynamics of them.

I for one would be a far better trainer than the 99% but unless I lieterally follow in Hanley's foot steps, I won't become one. Plus, the more aesthetically pleasing you are the better especially in this country when the client population are more at a loss than these trainers. As a 133kg bearded man the one market I would do well in is the powerbear one, but I'm not up for that!!

Yup my biggest beef is the fundamental ignorance about what a lift SHOULD look like.

Ya can be damn sure not every lift in RF is executed with technical perfection, but I ain't posting the ones that look shoddy!

Pretty sure i seen that PT knocking around my course. In fairness, 80% of the people i witnessed training to be a pt couldn't squat themselves...

Personally I loved when the PT said 'quality pal' :pac: also, it wouldn't be half as bad looking if they didn't load the bar with a bunch of 5 and 10kg plates!

Bad choice of words on my part. If you can't do it yourself then you shouldn't teach it. That's the way i see it

Came across a nice looking recipe for protein pancakes the other day and one of the ingredients was oat flour. I presume it's lower gi and higher fiber than white flour and that's why it's used.

Anyway, does such a thing exist in Irish shops or is there another flour I should use instead?

I use this recipe for coconut flour pancakes. Can be a bit dry and not great if its bulking your after cause they are seriously filling.

Im planning on buying my own band this week, pretty much only going to be using this for band pull aparts I imagine, want to start doing a ton of these for shoulder health. With that in mind anyone know which band I should go for from this page http://www.d8fitness.com/store/physio-supplies/power-bands/

The red mini is good for pull aparts. I've had one for a few months and it's holding up well.

Seconded. Mine gets plenty of use and still appears to be as good as new a couple of months later.

I ate an egg today!! (I really don't belong in this forum! :P) but I'm forcing myself to try and eat all the healthy things I would have normally turned my nose up at; eggs, peppers, tomatoes, salad, cabbage etc. Put cinnamon on the egg too, made it nicer I thought! :)

Fair play on the egg but if an egg is healthy eating what do you normally eat?

Well I'd eat all potatoes, carrots, peas, corn, sweet potato, celeriac, turnips, parsnips and chicken, lamb ( hate beef and pork but I'm made eat it! ) except for broccoli, cabbage, spinach, leafy greens really of any kind, tomatoes, peppers) :pac: all that lark for dinner, but for breakfast I tend to stick with weet-a-bix so I decided to give the auld egg a try so I can make it a bit of a habit of eating that sometimes in the morning, as it's quick and easy to cook, seems silly not to be able to eat it!:) Feel like my diet is pretty good thanks to living at home while in college and because I don't drink a lot.

What don't you like about veg? I find it's the texture. I can't stand onions/peppers any veg with a crunchy texture. I steam these types of veg until the crunchiness goes then add a bit of butter and sea salt nom nom.

I'm not sure if it's the taste (even though I know a lot of veg is bland) or the texture. Love crunchy potatoes - yum!
Damn, I've been really getting into dark chocolate (eating Lindt 85% dark chocolate as I type haha) :pac: Having a square everyday, hope that isn't bad!!
