Low bar. The more bent forward you are (translational load), the more your glutes and hams will be engaged. So the more upright you are the more your quads are involved.
That probably holds true when comparing low and high bar squats of the same depth.
But differing depth (ATG vrs PL) is going to change muscle recruitment.

Yes, but the way the OP asked the question it was specifically comparing ATG high bar against low bar powerlifting so I think what I said was valid. There are always going to be exceptions when you start to generalise, but for most cases, the more upright you are, the more quad-focused your squat will be and vice versa.

I was talking about ATG verses Powerlifting tbf.

Oly style squats will have additional glute recruitment from going ATG, compared to low bar PL squats only needing to break parallel

If you think ripping the hamstring off the pelvis sounds paindul, it looks painfuller.

    Not for the faint-hearted.

I've had a couple of nasty hamstring tears in my time, but dear sweet mother of all that is good in the world, that takes the proverbial biscuit.

    Ah heyorrr!

I had to add a caveat but I never made out it was gruesome.

The only video was some mobile footage not showing much.

Has anyone tried doing Deadlifts after Front Squats in the same workout? Much of a detrimental affect?

I'd be going heavy and low reps on both. 3 sets for squats and 2 for Deads.

Front squats after deads and speed deads.

    It's gruelling.

Not sure how much it takes from the front squats because the last few weeks have been 5x5, with < 2 minutes rest between sets, and I've gotten through them but they're tough at 75% of 1RM.

Would frequently enough do heavy paused front squats before deads in RevFit. Positive affect on deads.

Any other Aussie sites doing them (not many of those either) were selling packs at about $100 a pop.

When I said it was close, I did check the location.

Yeah, I found a few sell them for mad prices.
IronEdge were $100 for a pack of 4 pairs 0.25kg-1kg. Thir equipment is really good, but their retail prices are very expensive.

I looked at those on eBay and saw they were the ones from strength shop.co.uk.

Price worked out the same with delivery but reckoned delivery would be quicker with SS.

Midway through my training plan, keeping an eye on my volume and ratios.

    Current exercises (over two sessions) are;
Deadlift, Bench, row variation, Squat, Press, pull ups, Snatch grip shrugs, delt work, bicep, triceps.

I to takes volumes like this
    Dead lift = Hip
    Squat = Quad
    bench and press = push
    row and pull-ups = pull

Ignoring the rest in terms if volume. Somebody asked me if SG shrugs should be pull too. And I was able to definitively say yes or no. Thoughts?

Also, should I include power cleans with hip volume?

Not sure about the shugs, seem like a pull to me though. The first phase of a power clean is very similar to a deadlift so I'd count it with that. You can't fit all exercises into categories though, there's always going to be crossover and grey areas. As I'm sure you know the DL and power clean both use a lot of different muscles.

I suppose balance is the best way to describe it. Maintaining balance between push:pull as load increases. Aim for for hip volume Thad quad, hence unsure in power cleans should be included as they're quite a complex lift.

    http://healthyliving.azcentral.com/primary-muscles-involved-power-clean-exercise-3176.html

For the PC, this article apparently ranks the order of muscle muscle recruitment as glutes>hams>>quads>calves>traps+back.

Having said that, whenever I do lots of cleans, I only ever get DOMS in my traps and a little in my hams, so take from that what you want. It might be different for other people.

Any good video or guide on how to do a muscle up?

I think I should have the strength for one... can do about 15 BW pull-ups and one pull-up with 40kg added. I just can't coordinate my swing to generate enough momentum to get up high enough. I've tried a few times now but it always ends miserably...

I would have assumed as much hence why I'm classing it as a hip dominant movement. I don't have much volume with PCs tbh, buts the goal it's hip>quad it's a little boost there.
