Don't put any electronics in your bags. It'll get stolen, no matter what airport you are in. Was flying home from China a few years ago and I had my slim PS2 in the bag. Came home and it wasn't there and same for all of my dad's brand new clothes and dvd's we bought in China. Security recommended everyone not to put anything valuable in their luggage especially electronics as it can come up on the bomb detectors and baggage handlers will see it and take it. This was in Heathrow, the busiest airport and the highest level of airport security you could get outside US.

ah i don't go through heathrow anymore.. those people are dicks.. i'm bringing all my electronics onto the plane.. it's never gonna leave my sight

Good idea. I couldn't trust anyone inside the airport handling my luggage. You'd never what'll happen.

Could buy a spare battery for the laptop and have it fully charged up? That way you don't need to worry about the battery dyeing

You can but it has to be under 100ml and in a clear plastic bag
