Just wondered if anyone on the boards lived there or had lived there and what their impressions were. Looking for an easy going rural environment in West Cork and not expecting town like amenities.

Do you have a specific reason for picking caheragh, many people would just say West Cork or near Skibb/Bantry?
It's a nice enough little place and people have lived there for years, but unless you have a plan to go self sufficient it's an odd dream destination, as others have said most people will have to travel for shops, work, medicine etc.
It might help to be a little more specific about what you are looking for down there. Or what's holding you back.
