Hi everyone, I received my parts today and am currently building. The graphics card box came ripped and there are fingerprints all over the card:

Should I use the card or bring it back? I have to wait on my keyboard anyway so I don't mind waiting.

Hmmm. I'd test it first, make sure the card itself is well packaged, though in order to determine that only the box has been tampered with. If it were me I'd take the chance with it after confirming it works etc. if not, return it I'd say.

I would send it back myself to be honest if there are finger prints all over it.

Yep I don't think ill do anything with it tonight. Ill ring them and touch base with them in the morning. It's a bit of a pain in the arse to be honest.

You definitely didn't order one marked as 'special item' by accident?, as they are usually items returned by somebody else under the 7-day cooling off period etc.

If you are certain you ordered the 'new' version I would possibly consider returning it if it looks like it as been used previously, on the other hand if the contents inside look undisturbed and its just the exterior packaging has been damaged I'd probably be more inclined to hang onto it. Either way you are right to give them a buzz and a least flag it with them before deciding what to do.

@ Ronan14 : I was going with a hd7950 at first but went with duel 660 in the end , can't pull that off at the moment due to a lack of an sli bridge. but if your stuck and in Dublin I can sub you a new 660 until you get a new card back.

When I ordered, it was out of stock, I guessing they gave me a special item one instead.

I rang them this morning and decided to send it back, it may be best option for the long run. I also noticed an unsightly scratch on it that may hinder its value if I ever go on to sell it. Has anyone done this before, how long should I expect for a delivery to come? Do I get a discount or voucher etc?

What ever you want ^^ Personally that plate won't fit in my motherboard (it pushes the motherboard away just a tad too far from mounting screws) so I don't even use it. Bend it slightl to get at the HDMI port if you like, no biggie.

Fair enough, last thing I want to do is take the mb out again.

Another slight hiccup I have two fans and there is only one place on the motherboard to connect a fan apparently. This is the motherboard http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B75M-ITX/?cat=CPU
    Here is the fan connector:

I can see 2 x 4 pin headers in the picture.

One is for the cpu fan

There are two 4 pin PWM connections on the board right next to each other above the CPU socket. The 3 pin one should be able to alot into that. You won't have control over it, though, so it'll run at 100% all the time.

    Posted same as BB.

You will need a splitter then if using more fans. Either that or a fan controller or fan with molex power.

Oh ok, that makes sense, that's unfortunate do, problem after problem. It doesn't seem like there are any included with the motherboard

Had the same thing happen , I took the board back out and bent the metal out of the way and reinstalled the board.

Im not sure if the psu came with enough cables for the graphics card. There is only one pci-e cable, im also having trouble trying to source one online.

You need 2 6 pin PCI-E connections. All modern PSUs come with at least 1 6 pin pci-e and 1 8 pin that also works as a second 6 pin.

Did you graphics card come with one of these?
If so you can use that and the one attached to psu.

I think the one he got has only an detachable 8 to 6 pin.
I would have said min would have been two 6's

    Ah i see now.
So you do need an adapter like what i linked since you need two 6 pins.
Did you check the graphics card box?

Sorry I didn't see your last post there, yes, are two adapters that came with the card.

    No worries :D

Use the 6pin from psu and the adapter (2x4pin molex to 6pin pci-e).
I presume the psu has enough spare 4pin molex to do this.

Hey guys so I just got the replacement card, but the fan splitter for my case hasn't came yet. Is it ok if I just use one fan? If so which fan should I use, the hdd intake or the motherboard extake (if thats a word) Thanks! :)

Yeah it will be fine just don't overclock anything until you have both fans running.
Run exhaust fan on the rear of the case to remove warm air as that's the most important of the two.

I thought it was the replacement card as my flatmate told me a package came. I just opened it and it is the Asrock motherboard. Words cannot describe the frustration and anger going through me at the moment! It will be another two weeks until I get this pc up and running. Their service has been a nightmare so far! How did this even happen, I clicked the option for a direct replacement of the product! What should I do?
