I got the blue screen of death and this stop code twice tonight.
I was playing Max Payne 3 at the time.
I was wondering what could cause this error?
    How do I fix it?
I was playing with a dodgy xbox 360 controller.
The wire is a bit gone in it and it disconnects and reconnects with the slightest movement.
Could that be causing the problem or could it be something else?
I have all the latest windows updates installed on my pc.
    I have windows 7 64 bit.
My pc is the right spec to play that game also.
    Please help.

Are you completely up to date with your Windows Update patches?

Also make sure that all your drivers are up to date. Go to the computer manufacturer's website and see if there is anything available.

It seems that it might be that Kernel-Mode Driver Framework (KMDF) detected that Windows found an error in a framework-based driver.

Yes the drivers are all up to date I only updated them today.

Maybe it's a problematic or unsigned driver causing the issue so. The BSOD only happened after you updated?

    Nope before aswell.
It happened twice today then I updated and then it crashed again.
It always crashes when I'm playing Max Payne 3.
    It's a bugger.
I'm really enjoying the game and then suddenly it goes blue screen on me.
Max payne 3 just froze again there a second ago but I didn't get the blue screen or the error, I just pressed ctrl+ alt+ delete to get out of it.
I wish I had bought the game on 360 instead.
Anyway it does seem to be the game that's causing it.
Any ideas how I might solve this.
The game is a lot older than my video card drivers which are this years so I don't think that's the problem.

I know you said you were all good with updates, but have you installed the Service Pack 1 update for Win 7?

Edit: Also what graphics are you running? You said that you have drivers up to date, but if it is an Nvidia card, have you updated the nVidia chipset driver? Check this link and fill in the card type you have to make sure you have everything sorted. Other people that are having you issue have had it solved by making sure they are on Win7 SP1 update and the latest chipset drivers.

I have the latest amd catalyst driver for my radeon 6670 1gb ddr3.
I also checked and I have service pack 1 aswell.
I played it for about an hour.
I've dropped the textures to high.
Anyway after about an hour of playing I got the blue screen of death and
    STOP: 0x00000124
I'm lost on what to do next.

Are you over-clocking your system at all?

what are your PC specs ?

I would blame the AMD drivers being honest, compared to Nvidias they are very poor. I had to do a complete driver uninstall using Driver Sweeper (As the AMD "uninstaller" doesn't seem to completely remove them! ) and then installed the latest non-beta drivers from ATI. Not had problems so frequently since. Hopefully that will sort it.
Also make sure "AMD Overdrive" isn't enabled in the Catalyst Control Centre

    My processor is factory overclocked.
    It's a core i5 2500k and it's factory overclocked to 4.6ghz.
    My full pc specs are:
    core i5 2500k factory overclocked to 4.6ghz,
    4gb ddr3 ram,
    VTX 3D Radeon HD 6670 1gb ddr3 , 2gb hypermemory,
    Ezcool basic 500w psu,
    sony dvd-r
    1tb hard drive,
    Motherboards is AsusTek P8Z68-V-LE.

There's no overclocking on my graphics card at all.
I've never used AMD overdrive either.
I haven't even accepted the license agreement for AMD overdrive.
I think I might do a spyware and virus scan.
I have dropped my directx settings in Max Payne 3 down to directx 10.1 so maybe that'll help.
I think I'll try that driver sweeper thing aswell as that sounds like a good idea.
Sure I'll let you know if it happens again.
    Thanks lads.

Regarding the malware possibility have a look and see if you have a process like this running. This would cause issues alright

Have you tried dialing back your overclock somewhat?I was having similar problems after overclocking and dropped it back from 4.4 to 4.3 and everything's been grand since.
