Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Upgrading iPod Touch IOS to 4.3 (for a dummy)

The only thing apple I have ever used is the iPod Touch we bought our daughter over a year ago...second hand, so god knows how old it is...says the system is 4.2.something

Alot of the apps I try to download for my daughter say it needs a system of 4.3 or more...can someone help me with how I go about this please!?

I am indeed an apple dope, iTunes gets the better of me every time I try connecting on my laptop.

I am wondering if it is possible to do this & for it to run smoothly on this ipod....do I need to know what generation it is?
Will I lose all her games & music?

    Thanks :)

Have you tried the following? What happens?

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4623

Should be easy to update. If you know what generation it is it would help to see that it can actually be upgraded. iOS 6 is the latest version

I go to the settiings menu, go to General & it doesn't give me an option for software update

I have a feeling it is a 2nd generation iPod Touch, does this matter?

Edit: I just saw you need ios 5 or more for the option of updating on the touch via WiFi...so I need to go to iTunes on do it

If it is a 2nd gen then 4.2 is as good as it gets. You cant upgrade to anything higher than that.
