    Hi,

Does anyone frequently drive around Ballsbridge on a Friday afternoon?
I need to get from Clyde road to Dublin airport, should be leaving clyde road at 3:30 - my flight is at 17:45, is it do-able? Or do I need to leave much earlier?

    thank,
    Sarah

If it was me, I'd head for Irishtown, then East Link and Port Tunnel, will get you there in less than half an hour. Obviously that involves two tolls.

I am absolutely hopeless with place names! But is it that going by the M50?

I dont really trust googles traffic estimations, but the first route is by the M50: https://maps.google.ie/maps?q=clyde+road+ballsbridge+to+dublin+airport&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.47883778,d.ZG4&biw=1440&bih=703&pdl=300&wrapid=tljp1371473981221047&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&sa=N&tab=wl

Much appreciated! I have a course on in Ballsbridge, so i don't want to miss the end of that, but my flights are more important so I DEFINITELY don't want to miss those ;)

Do you need to take the car with you?

Use the Aircoach from Strand Road - it goes every half-hour and takes about 25 mins. Costs 8 euro and uses the East Link and the Port Tunnel. You can find free parking around there if you look hard. Advantage is that you get dropped off at the terminal and you do not need to find parking.

So if you get the coach around 4pm (15:50 depending) you will be in the airport before 4:30pm.

Yes that route on google maps is via the East Link and Port Tunnel. If you get to the tunnel before 4pm, the toll is 3 euro, 10 euro after 4pm.

Big cheese, Is the toll the same as the M50? As in you just drive under an eflow barrier, or do you actually have to stop and pay a cashier?

Sam, I'll have my car with me to get into town and I've already booked the airport parking - to be honest I totally forgot about the course when I was booking the flights!! Plus theres the hassle of bring your bags into town and having to keep them with you for the day - at least if I have the car I can just stick them in the boot!

You stop for the barrier at both East link and port tunnel tolls.
