Straw for my strawberries

Hi, I have a fair few strawberries on my allotment and I believe I should put something between the fruit and the ground to stop rotting. What do people recommend and where can I get some. I did hear straw was good, but where should I get it? Did think of a pet shop and some animal bedding straw. Is this my best…
