    Hope this isn't considered advertising.

I went to the cinema this evening and saw a big sign for Century Ice pointing to the left of the cinema where car showroom was. Turns out it's an ice rink that opened at the weekend.
Called in after the film and it looks to be similar to the 7Up on Ice setup except not in a marquee.

This is the first I saw or heard about it. Was it advertised much?

I heard talk of it a while back as part of some new complex didn't hear about it since that.

Odd that there was no talk about it since though I thought it had all stalled.

Gives us something else to do at least.

I asked about some of the details. Memory's pretty crap but I'll try.
    Opening hours:
First skate at 1 and last at 8 during the week and 12 and 9 at weekends, I believe.
€8 for adults and €5 for kids. €22 for family of 4.

1 hour session but girl there said if it's quiet you can stay on. She was wearing the cinema uniform.

Is it not synthetic ice? Not really ice skating...

... also they "stole" the idea from Donegal Airsoft in Newtown who had been granted planning months ago for one.

Yeah that's what I meant when I said about a 7Up on Ice setup. It's not really ice. Just like a portable rink. Maybe it's just because it's starting and they're seeing how it goes but it did look kind of cheap or something. Then again only actual ice rink I've been to is Coleraine Jet Centre.

I'll always remember the vertical slide in the adventure playground.
