If you're planning on heading to theses parts it looks like some of the passes will be closed for months after the flooding. We spent a few days up that way last year its a beautiful place but not looking so good now http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056975468

Tourmalet is closed from west side. Cycled it last year.Heading for the Alpes next weekend. At least the sun is shining there.

I am planning to visit this area late September. Anyone know what the situation is now?

Are the roads generally ok for driving?

Tourmalet is open again and roads are fine. They are having a heatwave at the moment, 40 degrees a couple of days ago.

Sorry road is open for cycling, not clear how you would get on with a campervan but updates here:

    Thanks Darkvalley.

I now plan to use a smallish car for transport and base myself in Cauterets.

    Any thoughts on this?
