Just a word of warning to landlords about what can happen when a tenant installs a prepay meter. My story is that a tenant has installed one of these meters without permission, with Airtricity. Now the tenant has legged it and left me with the issue of the meter (among other things) to sort out! I want to revert to ESB but…

If you mean Airtricity is 'they' ......then of course all of the above applies. I couldnt care less. My crib is that because electric bills are always in arrears Airtricity seems lacking in background checks and deposits retained until final meter reading is concluded. Monthly bills would help clamp this evasion. By the way good luck in taking on Airtricity and the Esb legally.
