Cloud Storage.

Can anyone recommend a good company to go with in order to store my files and photos?
Naturally I want however it is to be reputable and that there would never be any issue if me not being able to access or retrieve my personal stuff.
I need a fair amount if space as I have thousands if photos.
Any help would be appreciated.

Amazon/Google/Dropbox/Apple all give free storage, all depends how much you consider "a fair amount of space".. 1GB? 5GB? More? 1000's of photographs is most likely less, so any of the above would suffice.

It depends upon what is your primary email provider? If hotmail/live then skydrive. If gmail then googledrive. We could all bitch as to which is best for their free storage space, BUT if you're really keen, it wouldn't hurt to set up a second account and have the same folder stored in both google drive and skydrive. As well as having the essentials taken care of - a back up email address to send a restore password / your mobile number kept up to date / your security question to be kept up to date and one which no one can know the answer to...

I compiled a list of the free offerings I know at the mo.
A few already mentioned and some big names, plus a few newcomers.
Other than Dropbox or Skydrive havent really much knowledge of how well the others work. Feel free to comment - maybe we could build this in to a sticky
SpiderOak seems to be one of the few focusing on security.

New ones are cropping up but most now seem to be pushing free trial and monthly sub.
This lot below amounts to about 110Gb free plus more if you do tweets and referrals etc.
If you got the 100Gb from Zoolz launch offer then you could have well over 200Gb to pay around with.

Add in online sharing sites - instagram, flickr etc, music sites - soundcloud, spotify, itunes, youtube /vimeo video sites, it's gradually becoming a cloudy world.

How safe or permanent any of these are who knows, they could start charging once you start relying on them.

SkyDrive or Google Drive. With either you get direct access to edit your documents and things. I'm 100% sure the Google office suite is free but isn't as feature rich or "familiar" as the MSFT web apps, but google docs still have their usefulnesses.

Have a thread started here showing some options for photos etc and it also includes other options not mentioned here before such as

Box - free 5GB and they often do great deals (I have 50GB since I signed up using a Samsung device)
Social Folders - allows syncing across multiple platforms and it works a treat

for photos, flickr has a terrabyte of storage for all users (for free). That's hundreds of thousands of normal images. pix.ie do something similar albeit with a 'soft' though generous upload limit in a month.

Neither for documents though.

Also when deciding, consider if there is anything sensitive in any of the documents which you are hoping to store, and any implication that the Snowden hype / hysteria / reality means. ie: if you are putting your documents/files into a storage vault owned by a US organisation irrespective of where they may be physically located that they are obliged to provide access to (and in some cases willfully hand over access to) US authoritires. It mightn't be an issue for you and free is free as in no cost.

The other option if you are willing to spend a little and are in any way technically adept is to run a cloud server with software like OwnCloud running on it. Then you choose the location and in theory, the level of 'eavesdropping' you are comfortable with by virtue of the location / regeime under which it will operate.
