Rip it up and start again?

My "lawn" has been neglected for a long time. At the mo its half weeds half grass. The only attention I give it is regular cutting to keep it low. My question is do products like feed and weed work over time if I keep applying it or do I need to dig it up and reseed the grass?

They do work. I would always try to renovate before starting over again. Making a new lawn is not for the feint hearted.
Start with a feed and weed. Mow regularly. But most importantly Buy this book ...

Thanks for the reply, I've picked up some evergreen liquid feed and weed, its probably going to need a couple of applications.
