    Need some help here.:(

I've been clearing up space on my HD for more stuff. When I selected "delete local content" for World in Conflict and World in Conflict: Soviet assault steam deleted them. But I'm since after finding out that for some reason the game was installed not once, but twice. However I can't use the "delete local content" option as Steam thinks the game is uninstalled.
Is it safe to just delete the game folder in steamapps or is there registry and other stuff I have to worry about too?
Is there any way I can get steam to recognise that WIC is still installed?

try install it again, it should pick up that the files are already there and then delete content once more

failing that, delete the folders. worst case you download the game again

You could try to move the WIC folder to where to other uninstalled copy was and run 'verify game files' in steam.

I'd just delete it but I'm a UNIX person who hasn't a clue about registry ****e.

Entering the final year of my degree in August and have a few games in my library currently that I need to get through so haven't pulled the trigger on anything.

Quite tempted to pick up the two Witcher games but im not the biggest RPG head. The mass effect series would be only one I have ever really enjoyed (loved).

So yeah how would The Witcher compare to Mass effect it terms of combat ?
its not the same tired hack and slash animation over and over is it ?

Click on it in steam as if to install and it should register local files.

I remember when steam first came out and it was the worst thing I had ever seen. It initially attempted to fix a problem that never existed causing a bunch of games to be unplayable for a while. Look at it now

Civ V Brave New World is 20 euro on g2play now and with it you can get the battlefield 3 base game for 8.99

I picked it up today. Haven't played it yet but the commentaries on youtube are great to watch. Looks like a great game.

If your willing to go the amazon.com route I got BF3 and premium for $17.

You can get it on g2play with every purchase above 5 euro too.

I got Civ V the other day and I can't remember the last time I did anything productive in the real world. That's probably saved me from spending a ton more than I want to purely because I've been too busy eating city states to keep buying random simulators for €2.75.

I think I'll use this strategy from now on - buy something addictive to start with and keep myself distracted with that.
