Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Citroen C5 DRLs - how to?

    Hi all,

I have a 2008 citroen C5, 1.6 diesel. Changing bulbs recently, I noted bulbs in each of the headlamps where, on the facelift version, led strips now are. From research, I note that day time running lights (DRLs) are on my own version however depending on country, spec etc, one may or may not have the option on the car menu of turning them on or off. I dont have the option myself so to have them turned on, I need a dealership to run a diagnostics on the car to download the option.

With that, I went to citroen main dealer and asked about it - no problem to do but told it would take an hour and would cost €85. I would love to have the DRLs working because I'm a pernickety type however for the sake of two bulbs, it's a bit pricey!!

Anyone here know of a cheaper alternative for other options?
    Thanks a mill

Is your car Irish? I got one in 08 and - while I can't remember the exact steps now - I'm pretty sure it was like a 30 second job to get them on. You sure you don't have the option?

Hi Padraig. The car is Irish alright. From reading some citroen forum posts on google, it's supposed to be in "vehicle parameters" (right side menu button on steering wheel while car is stationary) but in some cases, the option for DRLs doesn't show. This is the case with my car. I have options for turning on/off the likes of the cornering lights but not drls.
It may depend on model type - my own is the exclusive model but there are higher spec models that may come with the option already in the menu set-up?
What model type is yours? Cheers

Wouldn't any indy do it cheaper?

Maybe so cinio, I'll check. I had checked main dealer as I believe the system/program they have is specific. I'll check an Indy however. Cheers

A €65 Lexia 3 will be able to do the job. Its software is called Diagbox. You can refer to threads in frenchcarforum or other Citroen forums or my tips below:

Run Diagbox - Menu - Vehicle parameters - Daytime running lights - tick the relevant box.
