Leverkusen were paired with Schalke which means they can't play on the same night, and Schalke were already on the (E-H) side of the draw, so they had to be either A, B, C, or D. Bayern were already in D so that eliminated that group and teams were already drawn into B and C.

The same reason as City. Both in pot 3. You have to be consistent to get a good coefficient.

Haven't been performing well in Europe in the last 5years. I think they didn't even qualify 1/2 of the years so their coefficient is low
